Tanta University Organizes a Comprehensive Environmental Convoy to Zefta

   Prof. 'Emad 'Etman, Tanta University Vice President, has declared that the comprehensive medical convoy sent by the University to Al-Aysha village in Gharbia governorate included 30 physicians and pharmacists. Medical examination was conducted to patients and medications were dispensed for free to all cases. In addition, a veterinary convoy was organized and medications were distributed for free. A large number of fruitful trees were planted as part of participation of the University in the presidential initiative “Go Green”.

   Prof. 'Emad 'Etman has pointed out that the convoy costed 150 thousand pounds in completion of the role played by Community Service and Environmental Development Sector in serving citizens of villages and districts in the governorate under patronage of Prof. Magdi Sab', University President. He added some academic staff members gave lectures to disseminate awareness about infection control of winter diseases such as coronavirus, methods of prevention from them and hazardous poisons at Faculty of Medicine in addition to a lecture on misuse of drugs in Egyptian society at Faculty of Pharmacy. Furthermore, cultural, sport and artistic talents were discovered among school pupils in the village.

     Activities of the convoy were held with participation of Prof. Ahmed Zaki Mansour, Professor at Faculty of Education; Prof. Sahar Hazza', Vice Dean of Faculty of Medicine for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Sahar Al-Haggar, Vice Dean of Faculty of Pharmacy for Community Service and Environmental Development; Mr. Mohammed Ghazy, General Manager of Environmental Projects; Mr. Maher Sa'd, General Manager of Community Service at the University; a group of University professors from different faculties in various specializations.

  The convoy was organized in cooperation with executive bodies in Gharbia governorate such as Zefta City Council, Education Directorate, Health Affairs Directorate, Veterinary Medicine Directorate, Social Solidarity Directorate in Gharbia, Middle Delta Environmental Affairs Agency, and the General Authority for Literacy and Adult Education (GALAE).
