Honoring School Students Who Won in the “Young Researcher” Initiative
Prof. Mahmoud Selim chaired the regular meeting of the Tanta University Council for Community Service and Environmental Development, in the attendance of Prof. Mohamed Ibrahim, Acting Dean of Faculty of Applied Arts; Vice Deans for Community Service from various faculties; Prof. Hagar Alam Al-Din, Executive Manager of Specialized Economic Centers and Units; Prof. Amal Abdel Sattar, Executive Manager of Community Services; Accountant Ahmed Rashad, University Secretary General; Engr. Nasser Hassan, Undersecretary of Gharbia Directorate of Education; Engr. Mohamed Qotb from the Environmental Affairs Authority; Dr. Adel Abdel Aziz, Undersecretary of Gharbia Directorate of Veterinary Medicine; Ms. Hasnaa Ibrahim, Undersecretary of Gharbia Directorate of Social Solidarity; and Mr. Mohamed El-Sharkasy, Director of the Environment Department at the Governorate.
The meeting featured outstanding presentations from the top three student winners in the fields of Artificial Intelligence, Medical Sciences, and Historical Archaeology as part of the "Young Researcher" initiative. These presentations prove the university’s commitment to fostering innovation and scientific research among young students. The winners were honored as follows:
• Student Mohib Basem Erian – Medical Sciences: A project on liver diseases
• Student Basma Ibrahim – Historical Archaeology: A research project on King Ramses II
• Student Mohamed Mostafa – Artificial Intelligence: A device designed to assist breast cancer patients in carrying objects
A presentation was also delivered on the centers accredited by the Central Agency for Organization and Administration and the services they offer, highlighting efforts to enhance administrative efficiency and to present the best services.
The council was also informed of the report on the comprehensive development convoy to the village of Armoon in El-Mahmoudiya district, Beheira Governorate, which took place on July 9, 2025, as part of the activities of the Delta Region Alliance. This convoy was organized in the context of the university’s ongoing efforts to support local community development.
The council further discussed the proposed vision and mission for the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector in line with the sector's 2025–2030 strategic plan. This aims to establish a clear and well-defined framework for the sector’s future guidelines.
It is worth noting that during the meeting, Prof. Sahar El-Haggar, Vice Dean of Faculty of Pharmacy, and Prof. Om Ibrahim El-Saai, Vice Dean of Faculty of Nursing, were honored upon completion of their terms. Engr. Nasser Hassan, Undersecretary of Gharbia Directorate of Education, was also honored in recognition of his outstanding efforts.
