Tanta University President, “An Integrated Strategy for Leadership Development at Academic Leaders’ Preparation Course”

   Prof. Mahmoud Zaki, Tanta University President, gave a lecture today evening under the title “Leadership Skills and Administrative Strategy for a Smart Sustainable University” as part of activities of the standardized training program Academic Leaders’ Preparation held in Conference Hall at the headquarters of University Administration.  

  Moreover, University President affirmed that a leader’s success factors include the will of change, beginning where others have ended, formulating the goals into an executive plan, teamwork and 5% approach, as well as sustainability.  

  Prof. Kamal Okasha, University Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, declared that the topics of the course focus on crisis management, risks and strategic planning, institutional performance in sectors of postgraduate studies and research, student affairs, community service and environmental development, in addition to fiscal and legal aspects of academic administration.  

   University Vice President added that the course aims to provide attendees with the knowledge and skills required for distance education, and leadership skills needed for managing different academic institutions. He highlighted the fact that the course is mainly organized for academic staff members at universities, institutes, and research centers who are nominated for leading positions.   

   Furthermore, Prof. Abeer Alam Al-Din, Executive Manager of the Main Center for Sustainable Development at Tanta University, pointed out that 43 trainees ̶ nominated for various administrative positions at Tanta University­ ̶ are attending the course that offers 15 training hours from current January 2nd to 4th   

   Prof. Alam Al-Din added that the lectures of the course are given by an elite group of Tanta University professors namely: Prof. Kamal Okasha, University Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research; Prof. Mohamed Hussein, University Vice President for Education and Student Affairs; Prof. Hamdy Shaaban, University Acting Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Hany Al-Shamy, Dean of Faculty of Commerce; Prof. Nahla Al-Ashmawy, Dean of Faculty of Pharmacy; Prof. Tarek Mustafa, Dean of Faculty of Science; Prof. Samir Reyad Helal, Prof. Mustafa Abo Amr, Acting Dean of Faculty of Law; and Prof. Abeer Alam Al-Din, Executive Manager of the Main Center for Sustainable Development at Tanta University.
