Celebrating the University’s Golden Jubilee, Faculty of Computer and Information Organizes a Symposium Entitled “Youth and their Role in Facing Cultural Invasion”

In the framework of celebrating Tanta University’s golden jubilee, Faculty of Computer and Information organized today a symposium entitled “Youth and their Role in Facing Cultural Invasion”.

   The symposium was held under patronage of Prof. Mahmoud Zaki, University President; Prof. Mahamed Hussein, University Vice President for Education and Student Affairs; Prof. Deyaa Rashwan, Head of SIS; and Mr. Amr Mahsoub, First Undersecretary of Ministry of Media and Head of Internal Media Sector; and under supervision of Prof. Nancy Al-Hefnawy, Faculty Dean; Prof. Osama Ghoneim, Coordinator of the Symposium; and Mr. Samir Mehanna, Undersecretary of Ministry of Media in Middle and East Delta.

    Moreover, Prof. Mahamed Hussein, University Vice President, commended the role played by Faculty of Computer and Information in supporting all student activities. He affirmed that informative symposiums help to form students’ personality coping with Egypt’s vision 2030. He highlighted the significance of increasing students’ awareness as a means of protection against ideological and cultural invasion.

   Furthermore, Prof. Hamdy Shaaban pointed out that the symposium was held in the context of celebrating Tanta University’s golden jubilee, in implementation of the instructions given the political leadership as for raising youth’s awareness about their role in confronting any external invasion that aims to control their minds. He confirmed that awareness of youth and university students helps to face current challenges and negative phenomena such as extremist thought, unemployment, and addiction.

   During her speech, Prof. Al Hefnawy highlighted keenness of the Faculty on holding a number of cultural symposiums in the light of directives of University President as they play a pioneer role in raising awareness of students and providing them with knowledge and information. She added that all university symposiums are considered an active mean to reach the minds of youth and enrich them with correct concepts to fight misperception, cultural invasion and information revolution that youth are exposed on social media.

 

   During the symposium, university vice presidents, Prof. Hamdy Shaaban and Prof. Mohamed Hussein, granted University Shield to MG. Osama Al-Gammal and Mr. Samir Mehanna. In addition, Prof. Nancy Al-Hefnawy, granted Faculty Shield to university vice presidents in attendance of a huge group of professors, academic staff and students.
