The Main Center for International Relations and International Students Affairs at Tanta University organized the “Cultural Photography Day” event at the Medical Colleges Complex under the patronage of Professor Mohamed Hussein, President of the University, with the coordination of Professor El-Sayed El-Agooz, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, and under the supervision and implementation of Prof. Shahira Sharaf El-Din, Executive Director of the Main Center for International Relations and International Students Affairs.
Professor Mohamed Hussein emphasized that the university places the internationalization of education at the forefront of its strategic priorities. He noted that Tanta University’s hosting of students from diverse nationalities reflects the international community’s confidence in the quality of Egyptian higher education. He further stated that the university is committed not only to providing distinguished academic content but also to creating a comprehensive and enriching student experience that integrates international students into the university community. He highlighted that such initiatives support the university’s internationalization strategy, which views every international student as a future ambassador for Egypt in their home country upon graduation.
For his part, Professor El-Sayed El-Agooz expressed his pride in the rich cultural diversity showcased during the Cultural Photography Day. He affirmed that Tanta University will always remain a home for all cultures and a bridge for intercultural dialogue among nations. He explained that the event primarily aimed to strengthen human connections, break down cultural barriers among students of different nationalities, create a visual archive documenting international students’ educational journey in Egypt, and highlight the university campus as a global community that embraces diversity. He also noted that the university welcomes international students from around the world through the “Study in Egypt” platform, with applications opening from the first week of May through the end of July.
Prof. Shahira Sharaf El-Din added that the event was far more than a traditional cultural exhibition; it evolved into a global platform for cultural expression and identity. Students from Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Sudan, Palestine, Yemen, Iraq, China, and Malaysia participated in the celebration, wearing their traditional national attire and carrying their countries’ flags during professional photography sessions that captured moments of pride in both their cultural heritage and their affiliation with Tanta University. The event was held under the slogan: “Where the civilizations of the world meet in a single scene.” Participating students received printed magnetic commemorative photographs as lasting keepsakes of their years of study in Egypt, further strengthening their emotional connection to the university.
The event concluded with a festive atmosphere and group photographs taken in front of the flags of the participating countries, reflecting Tanta University’s success in establishing itself as both an educational beacon and a platform for cultural diplomacy.
