Prof. Mohamed Hussein, Tanta University President, and Prof. Mahmoud Selim, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, witnessed the signing of a cooperation protocol and memorandum of understanding between Tanta University and Misr El-Kheir Foundation.
The agreement aims to support Palestinian students studying at the university and enhance cooperation in areas such as education, healthcare, scientific research, and community development.
The event was attended by Prof. Rania El-Kilany, Professor of Sociology at the Faculty of Arts and Coordinator of Cooperation with Misr El-Kheir, and Prof. Hazem Wafa, Executive Director of Misr El-Kheir. The protocol was signed by Prof. Mahmoud Selim on behalf of Tanta University and Prof. Mohamed Rifai, CEO of Misr El-Kheir.
Objectives and Key Areas of Cooperation:
🔹 Academic and Financial Support – Scholarships, accommodation assistance, and student activity support to facilitate Palestinian students' academic success.
🔹 Economic Empowerment – Support for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), financial and logistical aid for young entrepreneurs, and exhibitions for handicrafts and traditional products.
🔹 Education and Skills Development – Scholarships for outstanding students, specialized training courses for job market readiness, and literacy programs.
🔹 Scientific Research and Innovation – Funding for applied research projects, entrepreneurship support through business incubators, and collaborative scientific conferences and seminars.
🔹 Healthcare Services – Free medical convoys, support for university hospitals, and health awareness programs.
🔹 Community Development and Volunteering – Student engagement in volunteer activities, village rehabilitation, small business support for underprivileged families, and environmental initiatives like afforestation and recycling campaigns.
This agreement aligns with Egypt’s national strategy for higher education and scientific research, emphasizing integration, active partnerships, and internationalization. The collaboration will continue until December 31, 2029, with the possibility of renewal to ensure sustained development.
