During the reception of the Vice President of the Unified Procurement Authority by the President of Tanta University: Joint cooperation between Tanta University and the Unified Procurement Authority to develop medical performance through the digitization of the healthcare sector.

Dr. Mohamed Hussein, President of Tanta University, received today in his office Dr. Hisham Badr, Vice President of the Unified Procurement Authority. The meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Mohamed Hantira, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the Board of University Hospitals, and Prof. Dr. Hassan Al-Tatawy, Executive Director of University Hospitals. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the specialized workshop hosted by the faculty, titled “Presentation of the Digital Maintenance System on the Supply Chain System.”

Dr. Mohamed Hussein affirmed that the visit aimed to enhance the prospects of joint cooperation between the university and the authority, noting that the meeting included a review of the outcomes of the workshop. He emphasized the necessity of training human resources at university hospitals in modern digital maintenance technologies, as well as developing accurate databases for medical devices and equipment to facilitate regular replacement and renewal processes in coordination with the Unified Procurement Authority.

Dr. Mohamed Hantira explained that hosting the workshop on the "Digital Maintenance System" and strengthening collaboration with the Unified Procurement Authority represents a cornerstone in the university's strategy for developing its medical system. He emphasized that performance integration has become an essential requirement to ensure the continuity of medical services at the highest standards of quality, contributing to the provision of safe and effective healthcare, in alignment with the state’s vision for the digital transformation of the health sector.

Dr. Hassan Al-Tatawi, Executive Director of University Hospitals, stated that the implementation of the digital maintenance system will bring a qualitative transformation in the management of medical assets. He emphasized that the objective is “to extend the service life of devices and enhance their operational efficiency to reduce downtime.” Al-Tatawi added that the university hospitals are currently working on activating direct electronic integration with the Unified Procurement Authority, ensuring rapid response to malfunction reports and the provision of original spare parts, which directly reflects on the quality of services provided to citizens.
