During an extensive tour of the Centers of Excellence at the International Educational Hospital

• Tanta University is strengthening its self-sustaining capabilities and fostering a culture of medical and research excellence across its hospitals.
• The medical Centers of Excellence contribute to providing innovative solutions for the most complex medical cases, including cancer, hematological disorders, and genetic diseases.
 
   As part of Tanta University’s strategy to build its own material and human capacities and to consolidate a culture of excellence within its medical and research sectors, Prof. Mohamed Hussein, President of the University, conducted an extensive inspection tour of the laboratories and Centers of Excellence at the International Educational Hospital. The visit underscored the University’s commitment to direct field follow-up of advanced research centers and to supporting applied scientific research closely linked to public health.
   
   The tour included visits to the Surgical Intensive Care Unit, the Research Laboratory at the Educational Hospital, the Center of Excellence for Cancer Research, and the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit. During the visit, the University President reviewed the latest medical and laboratory equipment, advanced technologies, therapeutic services, and cutting-edge research activities.
   
   The tour was attended by Prof. Mahmoud Selim, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Hatem Amin, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research; Prof. Mohamed Hantira, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the Board of University Hospitals; in addition to the faculty vice deans, Prof. Mohamed Samir, Director of the International Educational Hospital, and a number of directors of the University Hospitals.
 
   Prof. Mohamed Hussein emphasized the vital role of the University’s research and medical centers in shaping a new academic and therapeutic reality. He added that the Centers of Excellence and advanced research units at Tanta University Hospitals constitute a cornerstone of the University’s strategy toward transformation into a fourth-generation university, integrating applied scientific research with highly specialized medical care.
 
   He further explained that the University’s possession of advanced scientific facilities positions Tanta University among distinguished institutions that not only provide conventional treatment, but also contribute innovative solutions for some of the most challenging medical fields, including oncology, hematology, and genetic disorders. He reaffirmed the University’s commitment to providing all necessary financial and logistical support to sustain and further develop these centers, while commending the efforts of the medical and research teams at the Faculty of Medicine and University Hospitals, who work collaboratively to deliver healthcare services that meet international standards and serve a broad segment of patients across the Delta governorates.
 
   For his part, Prof. Mohamed Hantira, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, stated that the specialized centers and units visited during the tour are managed in accordance with the highest international standards and specifications. He noted that the Faculty remains fully committed to the University’s vision of transitioning into a fourth-generation university by linking academic research with advanced therapeutic services, thereby delivering innovative solutions for patients and enhancing the training of young physicians and researchers to ensure the development of distinguished and self-reliant human capacities.
 
   He also expressed his deep appreciation for the University President’s visit and recognition of the medical and research teams, affirming that such appreciation serves as a strong motivation for all personnel within the University’s healthcare sector to continue working collectively and to maintain the provision of highly specialized and distinguished healthcare services.

    In a related context, Prof. Mohamed Samir, Director of the International Educational Hospital, reviewed the significant infrastructural modernization undertaken in the hospital’s intensive care and operating sectors through the upgrading of equipment and enhancement of the hospital’s self-capabilities. The new equipment includes fourteen ventilators, fifteen seven-parameter patient monitors with stands, five infusion pumps, twenty-five syringe pumps, five defibrillators, two video laryngoscopes, six DVT devices, five suction devices, four trolleys, and five crash carts.
 
   With regard to patient rooms and furnishings, the upgrades include fifteen bedside cabinets, fifteen dining tables, and fifteen five-function patient beds. The equipment also includes one operating table, six electrosurgical cutting and cauterization units, and a C-arm fluoroscopy imaging device for operating rooms. These developments reflect the complete integration of infrastructure modernization and human capacity development in order to reinforce a culture of sustainable excellence within the University.
