As part of the launch activities of the «Egypt Launches by Export» initiative from Gharbia Governorate, Dr. Mohamed Farid Saleh, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, and Major General Dr. Alaa Ibrahim Abdel Moaty, Governor of Gharbia, witnessed the signing of a cooperation protocol between the Ministry's Foreign Trade Training Center and Tanta University, with the aim of enhancing cooperation in the fields of training, capacity building and qualifying human cadres in the fields of foreign trade and export, in a way that supports the implementation of the state's goals to increase exports and expand the exporter base.
The protocol was signed by Dr. Mary Kamel, Executive Director of the Foreign Trade Training Center, and Professor Dr. Mohamed Hussein, President of Tanta University, in the presence of a number of leaders of the ministry, the governorate, and the university, representatives of the business community, and partner entities in the initiative.
The signing of the protocol comes as part of the launch activities of the «Egypt Launches by Export» initiative, launched by the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade with the aim of directly reaching companies within the governorates, and providing an integrated package of government services supporting export, through cooperation between all concerned parties, which contributes to qualifying companies to access foreign markets, and transforming production capabilities in the governorates into export capabilities, which supports economic development, provides job opportunities, and achieves a direct impact on citizens.
Dr. Mohamed Farid Saleh, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, stressed that the ministry is adopting a new approach to supporting exporters, based on reaching companies within production sites, noting that the initiative represents a practical translation of the political leadership's directives to increase exports and expand the exporter base.
The minister said that the ministry will not wait for companies to come to it, but will go with all its equipment to companies at production sites, to accompany them on their journey from assessing readiness and diagnosing needs to reaching foreign markets and achieving actual export contracts.
He added that investing in the human element is no less important than developing factories, stressing that capacity building and qualifying cadres represent one of the most important pillars of achieving the state's goals in increasing exports and enhancing the competitiveness of the Egyptian product, noting that cooperation with universities contributes to preparing a qualified generation that possesses the necessary skills to support foreign trade.
For his part, Major General Dr. Alaa Ibrahim Abdel Moati, Governor of Gharbia, stressed that the governorate is putting all its capabilities at the service of investors, and is keen to provide a stimulating business environment that supports the expansion of production and export.
Prof. Mohamed Hussein, President of Tanta University, confirmed that the university is proud to host the launch of the initiative «Egypt Launches by Export», noting that signing the cooperation protocol with the Foreign Trade Training Center represents an important step to link the educational process to the needs of industry and foreign trade.
He added that the university will work, through this cooperation, to prepare and implement specialized training programs in the fields of export and international trade, and to qualify human cadres capable of meeting the needs of the labor market, in a way that enhances integration between academic institutions and the public and private sectors, and contributes to supporting the competitiveness of the national economy.
For her part, Dr. Mary Kamel, Executive Director of the Foreign Trade Training Center, explained that the protocol represents a new step towards expanding the scope of the center's services within the governorates, in implementation of the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade's vision of building the export capabilities of Egyptian companies.
She added that the center will work in cooperation with Tanta University to implement specialized training programs targeting companies, students and graduates, which will contribute to preparing qualified cadres in the fields of international trade and raising companies' readiness for export, stressing that investing in human element development represents one of the most important axes of enhancing the competitiveness of Egyptian exports.
The protocol is part of an integrated work system adopted by the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade within the framework of the «Egypt Launches by Export» initiative, which aims to maximize the use of productive potential in the governorates, expand the base of exporters, and enhance partnership between the government, universities, and the private sector, which contributes to achieving the state's goals of increasing exports, supporting sustainable economic development, and creating more job opportunities.
