Prof. Dr. Mohamed Hussein: The qualification of three teams reflects the strength of the university’s innovation and entrepreneurship support ecosystem.

    Prof. Dr. Mohamed Hussein, President of Tanta University, announced that three student teams from Tanta University have qualified for the training and prototype development stage of the University Waste Management Competition, following their successful completion of the screening and selection stages. This achievement reflects the excellence of the university’s students and their ability to develop innovative ideas that address environmental and societal challenges.

    The qualified teams from Tanta University include “Rebqia”, led by student Hisham Mohamed Mohamed Barakat; “Raw Material in a New Form”, led by student Hagar Hamdy El-Behairy; and REPLASTOIL, led by student Rodina Mohamed Mahmoud Abou El-Yazid. The three teams were selected among the teams qualifying from public universities nationwide to advance to the training and prototype development stage.

    Prof. Dr. Mohamed Hussein emphasized that the qualification of three Tanta University teams in a competition of this level represents an important achievement for the university’s students and demonstrates the wealth of creative talent within the university, capable of transforming ideas into innovative solutions with potential for further development and practical application. He noted that this success is the result of the university’s strategy to nurture talented and innovative students, foster a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship, and encourage students to participate in national competitions and initiatives. He also extended his appreciation to Prof. Dr. Yasser Abdo, Executive Director of the Center for Nurturing Talented Students and Advisor to the University President for Innovation Affairs, for his efforts and support.

    The University President added that Tanta University is placing increasing emphasis on linking student activities with sustainable development issues and the needs of society. He explained that the next stage requires providing an enabling environment that allows students to further develop their ideas and transform them into prototypes and value-added projects. He affirmed the university’s continued commitment to providing the qualified teams with the necessary technical and academic support throughout the upcoming stages.

    For his part, Prof. Dr. El-Sayed El-Agouz, Vice President of Tanta University for Education and Student Affairs, affirmed that the qualification of the three teams reflects the outstanding level and innovative awareness of Tanta University students. It also demonstrates the effectiveness of the university’s student activities ecosystem in identifying creative talent and directing it toward fields that serve society and the environment.

    The Vice President explained that the university is pursuing an integrated vision aimed at equipping students with innovation, teamwork, and problem-solving skills, while enabling them to transform ideas into practical applications. He noted that reaching the training and prototype development stage represents an important step for the teams in refining their projects and enhancing their readiness to compete in subsequent stages.
