The university’s improved international ranking has positively impacted the number of international students and foreign currency inflow.

We are committed to supporting the presidential initiative “Alliance and Development” by mobilizing all the university’s human and material resources to serve this national initiative.

Tanta University Council convened its regular monthly meeting for June today under the chairmanship of Prof. Mohamed Hussein, President of the University. The meeting was attended by Prof. Fouad Harass and Prof. Abdel Hakim Abdel Khalek, former university presidents; Prof. Mahmoud Salim, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Hatem Amin, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research; faculty deans; the university’s legal advisor; and the Secretary-General of the university.

At the beginning of the meeting, Prof. Mohamed Hussein expressed his deepest condolences to the families of the victims of the tragic regional road accident, praying that God grants them mercy and eternal peace. He also extended his congratulations to the Egyptian people and political leadership on the occasion of the 12th anniversary of the June 30 Revolution, affirming the university’s full support for the leadership in its confident steps toward building the New Republic and achieving comprehensive development. He also praised the decision by Prof. Mohamed Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, to exempt the children of martyrs from tuition fees and to grant a 50% discount for the families of the injured, highlighting this as a gesture of deep appreciation for their sacrifices and a firm commitment to supporting their families.

Prof. Hussein emphasized that Tanta University’s institutional vision is fully consistent with the principles of the National Strategy for Higher Education and Scientific Research and the targets of Egypt Vision 2030. The university continues its journey toward academic and research excellence and comprehensive community service. He reaffirmed the university's commitment to supporting the presidential initiative “Alliance and Development,” highlighting the mobilization of all human and material resources to achieve its objectives. In this context, Prof. Hussein presented a detailed strategic plan of the university, outlining implementation mechanisms and targeted priorities that align with national and regional perspectives, particularly in light of Tanta University's leadership of the Delta Region Universities Alliance.

He also praised the continued and sincere efforts of the university's academic and administrative staff, noting that these efforts have led to a significant improvement in the university’s international ranking. This advancement has resulted in a 34% increase in the number of international students, reaching 2,918 students, which in turn has led to a substantial rise in the university's foreign currency inflow, totaling nearly $9 million for the current academic year—marking a significant leap in the university’s self-generated resources.

As part of the university’s efforts to strengthen international partnerships, Prof. Hussein reviewed the recent visit of a Tanta University delegation to the University of Cantabria in Spain, emphasizing the critical role of such visits in opening new horizons for academic and research collaboration and enhancing the university’s prospects for forming effective global partnerships. In the same vein, he noted the university’s reception of 55 students from various nationalities from the University of Bradford, UK, as part of an outstanding student exchange training program in collaboration with the Faculty of Engineering, which enriches both academic and practical experiences for the students.

In line with efforts to enhance educational and healthcare services, Prof. Faten Abu Taleb, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, delivered a comprehensive presentation on the contributions of faculty members, their assistants, and administrative staff that led to securing approval from the Supreme Council of University Hospitals for the trial operation of the University Dental Hospital. This achievement reflects the university’s commitment to providing high-quality healthcare services and practical training for its students.
