Tanta University Hosts Delta Universities Alliance Students in the Event: “Psychological Challenges in University Life”

Under the patronage of Prof. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Prof. Mohamed Hussein, President of Tanta University, the University is launching its first event of the 2025–2026 academic year under the title “Psychological Challenges in University Life.”


The event comes in conjunction with the start of the new academic year and reflects Tanta University’s leadership role as Chair of the Delta Universities Alliance. It is held in line with the directives of the national leadership to strengthen psychological support within universities.


The program aims to shed light on the most pressing psychological issues faced by students during their academic journey, including:


The relationship between students and faculty members.


The impact of family relations on students’ mental health.


The threats posed by media and social media platforms to psychological well-being.


The risks of addiction in its various forms, with warnings against the use of narcotics and toxic substances.


Providing support for students with disabilities.


Combating bullying among young people.


Developing a comprehensive psychological plan to support students in achieving success throughout their university years and into their careers.


The event will take place on Wednesday, 24 September 2025, at the Conference Hall of Tanta University’s Administration Building. Proceedings begin at 11:00 a.m., with student registration from the participating universities of the Alliance opening at 9:30 a.m.


The event is organized under the supervision of Prof. Amr Abdel Moneim, General Supervisor of the University Medical Administration; Prof. Magdy Wakouk, General Coordinator of Student Activities; and Mr. Mohamed El-Qasir, Director General of Student Welfare.


A distinguished group of experts and specialists will deliver lectures, including:


Prof. Hossam El-Sawy, Professor of Psychiatry, Tanta University.


Prof. Mohamed El-Wasifi, Professor of Psychiatry and Addiction, Mansoura University.


Ms. Dina Osama Waly, Media Presenter, DMC Channel.


Prof. Ahmed Haroun, Consultant of Psychotherapy and Mental Health.


Prof. Aliaa Ahmed Shanab, Expert in Public Health Partnerships, Policies, and Human Development.
