The regular meeting of the Tanta University Council for January was held today under the chairmanship of Prof. Mohamed Hussein, Tanta University President, in the presence of Prof. Fouad Harras, Former President of Tanta University; Prof. Abdel Hakim Abdel Khaleq, Former President of the University; Prof. Mahmoud Selim, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Hatem Amin, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research; Prof. El-Sayed El-Agouz, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs; faculty deans; Counselor Khairy Emara, Legal Advisor to the University; and Mr. Ahmed Rashad, University Secretary General.
During the meeting, Prof. Mohamed Hussein, Tanta University President, commended the tireless efforts exerted by faculty deans, administrative teams, and supporting staff throughout the first semester examination period. He emphasized that the integration of efforts and teamwork ensured that the examination process was conducted in a disciplined and civilized manner, reflecting the University’s prestigious standing.
He directed that all grading and result-recording processes be completed with the utmost accuracy and care, and that student results be announced as swiftly as possible. He noted that the prompt release of results currently stands at the top of the University administration’s priorities, in order to provide students with sufficient time to prepare for the second academic semester.
On his own behalf and on behalf of the Council members, the Tanta University President extended his sincere congratulations to Prof. Ahmed El-Araby on the issuance of the Presidential Decree appointing him as Dean of the Faculty of Arts, wishing him continued success in leading the faculty toward further academic and administrative excellence. He also expressed his deep appreciation and gratitude to Prof. Mamdouh El-Masry, former Dean of the Faculty, for his sincere efforts and dedicated service throughout his tenure, which witnessed tangible progress and qualitative development across various academic and administrative domains.
In addition, Prof. Mohamed Hussein reviewed a comprehensive report on the performance of the distance learning system and the targets achieved during the first semester. In this regard, he stressed the necessity of making optimal use of Tanta University’s advanced digital infrastructure, emphasizing that it represents a strategic investment that must be leveraged to develop interactive curricula and enhance students’ technological skills.
The Tanta University President also praised the pioneering initiative launched by the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector entitled “Best Environmentally Friendly Faculty.” He affirmed that this competition holds significant strategic importance at the present time, as it contributes to embedding a culture of sustainability and spreading environmental awareness among students, staff, and faculty members.
He explained that the objective of the competition goes beyond mere rivalry, aiming instead to transform Tanta University’s faculties into “green models” that apply the highest standards of environmental preservation, rationalize resource consumption, and ensure safe and effective waste management. He emphasized that this initiative is fully aligned with the objectives of Egypt Vision 2030.
