The Center for World University Rankings (CWUR) is a leading consulting organization that provides policy advice, strategic insights, and consulting services to governments and universities to improve educational and research outputs.
Since 2012, CWUR has been publishing the only academic ranking of world universities that assesses the quality of education, employability, quality of academic staff members, and research without depending on surveys or data submissions from universities. The ranking began as a project in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia to rate the top 100 world universities. It was quickly reported internationally by universities and the media. A lot of requests were received to expand it. In 2019, CWUR expanded to include the top 2000 out of about twenty thousand world universities. Thus, it became the largest academic ranking of world universities. Since 2016, CWUR has been located in the United Arab Emirates.
