Tanta University President Inaugurates Discounted Goods and Food Products Exhibition at Faculty of Agriculture

   Prof. Mohamed Hussein: The exhibition reflects our commitment to presidential directives aimed at providing a comprehensive social protection umbrella for all segments of citizens.

   Prof. Mohamed Hussein, President of Tanta University, inaugurated today the discounted goods and food products exhibition organized by the Faculty of Agriculture at the faculty premises. The opening was attended by Prof. Issawi Qassem, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, and Prof. Adel Hilal, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, along with a number of faculty members and organizers.

   The University President toured the various exhibition sections, which included a wide range of food and essential commodities, as well as agricultural and animal products offered at reduced prices and significant discount rates. These products are produced by the farms and production units affiliated with the Faculty of Agriculture and are distinguished by high standards of quality and food safety.

   The President of the University affirmed that the inauguration of the discounted goods exhibition at the Faculty of Agriculture reflects the vital societal role played by Tanta University as a developmental beacon in the heart of the Nile Delta, and its commitment to presidential directives aimed at providing a comprehensive social protection umbrella for all citizens and ensuring the availability of essential goods at affordable prices. He emphasized that such initiatives represent a true activation of Tanta University’s role as a fourth-generation educational and developmental institution, whose mission extends beyond teaching and scientific research to becoming a key driver of sustainable development, building a knowledge-based economy, and strengthening effective partnerships with industrial and production stakeholders to transform academic outputs into practical solutions that serve society.

   Prof. Mohamed Hussein added that the University operates according to an ambitious strategy closely aligned with Egypt Vision 2030 and directly contributes to achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. He expressed pride that the exhibition relies primarily on the distinguished products of the University’s agricultural and animal production sector. He also praised the efforts made by the Faculty of Agriculture administration and the Community Service and Environmental Development sector in organizing the exhibition, affirming the University’s commitment to enhancing its societal and service role and contributing effectively to alleviating the economic burdens on citizens.

   For his part, Prof. Issawi Qassem, Dean of the Faculty, explained that the exhibition comes within the framework of linking scientific research and academic production to the actual needs of society. He noted that the displayed products are the outcome of an integrated system supervised by experts and faculty members to ensure the provision of safe products at fair prices lower than their market counterparts.

   The Dean also stressed the great importance of organizing such an exhibition, which reflects the Faculty’s ongoing commitment to university staff and its efforts to help meet their basic needs. He highlighted that this initiative demonstrates the important role played by the Faculty in community service and environmental development, extending his sincere appreciation to Prof. Adel Hilal, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, praising his tangible efforts and the sector’s dedication to continuing the organization of such successful exhibitions and events that serve the public interest within the university.
