In Cooperation with University of Bradford in England, Tanta Faculty of Engineering Organizes a Symposium about the Professional Master’s Degree in “Smart and Sustainable Cities” in the Context of the Research Project Funded by the British Council

Faculty of Engineering at Tanta University organized a symposium to present the general framework of the professional Master’s degree in “Smart and Sustainable Cities” in cooperation with University of Bradford in England in the context of the activities of the research project funded by the British Council. The event was held under patronage of Prof. Mohamed Hussein, Acting President of Tanta University, and in attendance of Prof. Hatem Amin, University Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research; Prof. Emad Etman, former Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development and Head of the Egyptian research team; Prof. Ahmed Nassr, Dean of Faculty of Engineering; Prof. Mamdouh El-Masry, Dean of Faculty of Arts and Political Communication Advisor to the University; Prof. Abeer Alam El-Din, Dean of Faculty of Science; Prof. Tamer Al-Korani, President of the Engineers’ Syndicate Subdivision in Gharbia; as well as several faculty vice deans, members of Parliament, Prof. Hamdy Shatta, Chairman of the Board of Gharbia Water Company, Eng. Ayman Sedky, Head of the Electricity Meters Sector at South Delta Electricity Company, and several representatives from industrial and economic companies and institutions, along with the project team.

    Prof. Hatem Amin declared that the university always seeks to develop the postgraduate programs offered at its various faculties through the effective partnerships that improve research outcomes and enhance the financial and human capabilities. In addition, the programs aim to develop high-quality academic and research system that aligns with international advancements.

   Moreover, Prof. Emad Etman indicated that presenting the general framework of the professional master’s program today is a result of the collaboration with University of Bradford that started last summer with the student training exchange program that was implemented at Tanta University and appealed to students of Bradford University. He highlighted the significance of dialogue with industrial and academic partners. Finally, he thanked Prof. Mohamed Hussein, Acting President of the University, and Prof. Ahmed Nassr for their efforts. Furthermore, Prof. Ahmed Nassr, Faculty Dean, pointed out that the program is a culmination of the efforts exerted by the faculty to develop and update its programs to meet labor market needs and to provide students with the skills and abilities required for facing future challenges. He declared that the symposium featured a presentation of the educational outcomes expected from the program as well as its general framework and a review of future perspectives for smart and sustainable cities in the new republic.
