Prof. Mohamed Hussein, “Tanta University aims to enhance its capabilities in offering smart service and increase the number of international students at its faculties”
Prof. Mohamed Hussein, Acting President of Tanta University, participated today in the 41st conference of the Arab Organization for Admission and Registration Officers in Arab Universities, held in Oman under the topic "The Role of Artificial Intelligence in Enhancing Admission and Registration Processes". The event was attended by H.E. Rahma bint Ibrahim Al-Mahrouqi, Oman’s Minister of Higher Education, along with a number of university presidents and vice presidents from Arab and foreign universities.
Prof. Mohamed Hussein delivered a lecture titled "The Role of Artificial Intelligence in Empowering People with Disabilities: Opportunities and Challenges." The lecture included an introduction to the concepts of artificial intelligence (AI) and disability, a detailed explanation of how AI can empower individuals with different disabilities, the positive impact of using AI, the challenges associated with its use, and the future prospects for benefiting from AI. In addition, he also pointed out the university’s role in supporting individuals with special needs.
Moreover, during his lecture, Prof. Hussein discussed Tanta University’s experience in supporting students with disabilities as part of its strategic plan. He explained the institutional framework adopted by the university, its main objectives—including accessibility, inclusion, participation, and empowerment—and the university’s practical measures for supporting its students. These measures include financial, skill-based, and technical support; facilitation of resources and housing; participation in student activities; and efforts to promote inclusion. All these endeavors are implemented in collaboration with various organizations and institutions.
Furthermore, the Acting President of Tanta University presented a visual presentation titled "Mechanisms for Enrollment and Verification of International Students' Certificates". He explained how the "Study in Egypt" platform functions to verify the certificates of international students seeking admission to Egyptian universities, ensuring that all requirements for enrollment are met efficiently so that they can begin their study.
In addition, Prof. Hussein highlighted the increase in the number of international students at Tanta University in both undergraduate and postgraduate programs, which has doubled over the past three years. This growth is a result of the university’s efforts and the facilities provided to international students, such as accommodation, good transportation, and the inauguration of the Services Center for International Student to expedite admission and registration processes.
