Tanta University organized a visit to the Cairo International Book Fair, which is holding its 56th edition under the slogan “Read: In the Beginning, There Was the Word”. The fair is held in the Egypt International Exhibitions Center in the 5th Settlement and will continue until February 5. The visit was headed by Prof. Mohamed Hussein, Acting President of Tanta University, with the participation of 250 students, many academic staff members and employees of the university.
Prof. Mohamed Hussein emphasized his commitment to ensuring university students' participation in the visit to the Cairo International Book Fair as it plays a significant role in promoting culture and disseminating knowledge. It serves as an opportunity for cultural exchange and exposure to diverse intellectual topics. Additionally, he indicated that the university organized many visits to the fair since its beginning with the participation of international students, academic staff members, and employees of the university.
Moreover, Prof. Mohamed Hussein voiced his pleasure at university students’ participation in the visit to the book fair, commending the cultural diversity at its pavilions and the wide range of publications across various fields, as well as the international participation of publishers, authors, and thinkers from all over the world. Prof. Hussein also highlighted the role played by the fair in educating students, encouraging them to always read, and creating an aware and enlightened generation of university students.
During the visit, the students toured the pavilion of the Administrative Control Authority (ACA), as well as those of Ministries of Defense, Interior, and Environment, along with numerous publishing houses. The students expressed their delight at the fair, describing it as an outstanding cultural event that provided them with opportunities for cultural interaction and intellectual exchange. It opened new avenues of learning for them.
