The sixth edition of the International Conference on Advances in Structural and Geotechnical Engineering was launched last night under the title:
"Integration of AI-Driven Vision and Innovative Smart Techniques: Pioneering the Future of Structural and Geotechnical Engineering."
The conference is organized by the Department of Structural Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, under the patronage of Prof. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and in the presence of Tanta University President; Prof. Hatem Amin, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research; Prof. Ahmed Nasr, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering; and Prof. Emad Atman, former Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development and Chair of the Conference, along with a distinguished group of faculty members and researchers from Egyptian and international universities. The four-day conference is being held in Hurghada.
Tanta University President expressed his pleasure at attending the sixth edition of this international conference, affirming that it continues a fruitful academic journey that began in 2015. The conference is being held today with the participation of elite researchers and scientists from over 20 countries worldwide. It offers a prestigious scientific platform for the exchange of expertise and discussion of the latest research in various fields such as structural theory, soil mechanics, foundation engineering, reinforced concrete, environmental engineering, project management, and other related disciplines. He wished for the conference to be an enriching academic and social experience, and a further step toward building effective partnerships and developing innovative engineering solutions to meet future needs.
In his speech, Prof. Hatem Amin welcomed all attendees, emphasizing that such conferences are a valuable opportunity to exchange experiences, review the latest scientific advancements, and strengthen cooperation between universities and engineering institutions. He noted that Tanta University consistently supports scientific research and technological development and is deeply committed to aligning higher education outputs with labor market needs and national development projects. He hoped the conference would yield fruitful outcomes and contribute to the university's mission of excellence, urging all participants to make the most of this opportunity and extending thanks to all working teams for their dedicated efforts and valuable contributions.
Prof. Ahmed Nasr congratulated Tanta University President on the presidential decree appointing him as university president, noting that the conference brings together a distinguished group of researchers, engineers, and academics in structural engineering from various Egyptian universities. The goal is to discuss the latest research and technological developments in this vital field, which is a cornerstone for infrastructure development and achieving sustainable growth.
Prof. Emad Atman also presented an overview of the conference’s activities, procedures, key lectures, and discussions, highlighting the diverse themes of the conference and the inclusion of advanced research papers. He expressed gratitude to the sponsors from various economic entities and thanked all participants and organizers for their valuable efforts.
