Professor Mohamed Hussein, President of Tanta University, announced that the Faculty of Engineering has successfully maintained the accreditation of its Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering Research Laboratory by the Egyptian Accreditation Council (EGAC), in accordance with the requirements of the international standard ISO/IEC 17025:2017. Prof. Mohamed Hussein affirmed that this achievement represents a significant step within the university's strategy to develop its scientific research system and link it to industry. He pointed out that this accreditation confirms the university's commitment to applying the highest international quality standards in laboratory testing and ensuring the accuracy of the research and service results provided by the laboratory to the contracting and construction sector.
He added that this accreditation is an international testament to the technical competence of the university's human resources, emphasizing the university's continuous efforts to develop its laboratories into regional centers of excellence that provide world-class consulting and technical services, thus serving major national projects within the framework of Egypt's Vision 2030.
For his part, Professor Prof. Ahmed Nasr, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, explained that the faculty prioritizes quality and excellence, noting the vital role played by the Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering Laboratory as a cornerstone in providing technical support to the civil engineering sector. He indicated that obtaining renewed accreditation according to ISO/IEC 17025 reflects the discipline of the management and quality system within the laboratory and ensures high accuracy and reliability in all tests offered by the center. He expressed his gratitude to Prof. Waseem Azzam. The laboratory director and the outstanding team, appreciating their tireless efforts and continuous dedication to achieving the center's goals and maintaining its accreditation.
