President of Tanta University Announces Comprehensive Preparedness Plan and Intensified Medical Presence at University Hospitals During the Eid Al-Adha Holiday


   Prof. Mohamed Hussein, President of Tanta University, announced the implementation of the highest level of preparedness across all university hospitals in conjunction with the Eid Al-Adha holiday. This measure aims to ensure the provision of optimal medical services to citizens and the immediate handling of any emergency cases that may arise during the holiday period.
   
   Prof. Hussein affirmed that the university has placed all its medical and human resources on full alert in preparation for Eid Al-Adha, emphasizing that the foremost priority is to guarantee the delivery of high-quality and rapid healthcare services to all citizens. He also directed the maintenance of a strategic reserve of medicines, medical supplies, and blood bags, in addition to activating a central crisis management operations room functioning around the clock. He commended the efforts of the medical and administrative personnel who will remain on duty throughout the holiday and expressed his full confidence in their ability to manage all emergency situations with professionalism and efficiency.

   As part of the established preparedness plan, Prof. Mohamed Hantira announced that the Crisis and Disaster Management Committee will remain in continuous session under his chairmanship as Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the University Hospitals Board, alongside Dr. Hassan El-Tetawy, Executive Director of the University Hospitals. The plan also includes the provision of substantial quantities of personal protective equipment (PPE), disinfectants, and all essential medical supplies required to safeguard healthcare teams and patients and to address any potential risks.

   Prof. Hantira added that the preparations include the implementation of round-the-clock duty rosters for infection control and surveillance teams, as well as increasing the number of on-call physicians in emergency departments. A comprehensive schedule has also been established for the university hospitals’ ambulance fleet, ensuring that all vehicles are fully equipped with the necessary resources. Furthermore, work schedules have been organized for physicians and technical staff in supporting departments, including radiology, laboratories, and the blood bank.

   Prof. Hassan El-Tetawy further stated that additional quantities of medicines and medical supplies have been allocated to emergency departments, while a strategic reserve of blood bags and blood products has been secured. All critical hospital infrastructure systems, including medical gas networks, power generators, and diesel fuel supplies, have been thoroughly inspected to ensure uninterrupted and efficient operations. In addition, a number of inpatient beds have been designated for emergency-related admissions, and the readiness of emergency units and supporting departments has been verified to ensure optimal performance throughout the holiday period.
