Prof. Mohamed Hussein, President of Tanta University, participated today in the meeting of the Supreme Council of Universities, headed by Prof. Abdel Aziz Qansouh, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Acting Minister of Culture, in the presence of Prof. Mustafa Refaat, Secretary of the Council, and the Council members, at the Ministry's headquarters in the new capital.

   According to a statement by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research stressed the full readiness for electronic coordination work and providing all aspects of support to students in computer labs at universities, developing an integrated national system for research, development and innovation, continuing the efforts of universities in rationalizing energy and water consumption, and activating the role of universities in confronting abnormal ideas and extremist thought in cooperation with all ministries and concerned authorities.

   The Council also adopted a comprehensive framework for evaluating the performance of Egyptian universities, and discussed an additional path to current paths for promoting faculty members that focuses on innovation.
