Tanta University recorded a distinguished presence in the final qualifiers for the fifth season of the National Reading Project, whose activities began on Thursday, August 6, 2026 in the New Administrative Capital, with the participation of an elite group of university students who succeeded in reaching the final stage after passing multiple competitive stages.

    The university's participation came under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Hussein, President of Tanta University, and under the leadership and guidance of Prof. Al-Sayed Al-Ajouz, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, and under the general supervision of Prof. Magdy Wakouk, General Coordinator of Student Activities, and with the follow-up of Prof. Mohamed Al-Qaseer, Director General of the General Administration of Student Welfare.

    Prof. Mohamed Hussein stressed that the university students' arrival to the final rounds of the National Reading Project reflects the distinguished intellectual and cultural capabilities of Tanta University students, noting that the university adopts an integrated vision to build the student's personality and develop his awareness, knowledge and skills, in parallel with his academic role, which enhances his ability to be creative, compete and participate effectively in building the knowledge society.

    The university president added that reading represents a fundamental pillar for building awareness, developing critical thinking and the ability to continuously learn, stressing the university's keenness to support national initiatives that aim to spread the culture of reading and knowledge among young people, discover talented and creative people and provide a stimulating environment for them to hone their abilities and develop their skills.

    For his part, Prof. Al-Sayed Al-Ajouz confirmed that the qualification of Tanta University students to the final rounds comes as a culmination of the university's efforts in supporting cultural and intellectual activities, explaining that the Education and Student Affairs Sector works to achieve integration between the educational process and student activities as one of the main paths to building the student's personality and developing his abilities and skills.

    The Vice President of the University added that the university pays special attention to discovering student talents, providing them with all aspects of support and care, and encouraging students to participate in national competitions and initiatives, stressing that what students have achieved in reaching the final stage reflects a distinguished level of awareness, culture, and the ability to read, analyze, and think critically.

    Prof. Mohamed El-Qaseer, Director General of the General Administration of Student Care, followed up on all administrative and logistical arrangements related to the participation of the university delegation and providing the necessary support to the students. The opening of the final rounds was attended by Prof. Mohamed Taha, Professor at the Faculty of Education and Coordinator of the National Reading Project at Tanta University, and Mustafa Mansour, Director of the Cultural Activities Department.
