Tanta University announces the launch of the "Research Excellence Competition" for graduate students, as part of the university's continued keenness to support the quality of scientific research, stimulate academic excellence, and enhance the role of research outputs in serving society and achieving sustainable development goals and Egypt's Vision 2030.

     Prof. Mohamed Hussein, President of Tanta University, stressed that launching the competition embodies the university's keenness to create a competitive environment that encourages researchers and graduate students to excel and innovate, noting that the university places improving the quality of the research system at the top of its priorities, adding that the competition aims to link scientific research with the strategic objectives of the state and the main principles of the national strategy of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, with a focus on applied research that provides practical solutions to societal problems and meets the needs of the industrial sector.

     For his part, Prof. Hatem Amin, Vice President of Tanta University for Graduate Studies and Research, explained that the competition is subject to precise controls and governance to ensure the highest levels of objectivity and transparency, pointing out that the evaluation requires the researcher to adhere to the ethics of scientific research, and to pass the citation examination reports and content examination prepared using artificial intelligence tools (AI Content Detection), noting that the evaluation is carried out in two stages; the first at the college level by selecting three winners from each college, The second is at the university level under the supervision of a specialized committee to determine the first places.

     The competition targets all master's and doctoral students enrolled in various specializations at the university. Applicants must submit a scientific summary in Arabic and English (300-500 words), a copy of the published or accepted research, a detailed statement of the problem boundaries, methodology, and results, in addition to citation screening reports and content screening reports prepared using artificial intelligence tools.

     The university offers cash prizes and incentive certificates of excellence, with the winner of first place at the college level and second place receiving cash prizes. At the university level, first place, second place and third place receive financial prizes, in addition to including the names of the winners in the university's research honor board and publishing summaries of their work through the official website.

    The Graduate Studies and Research Sector has set the competition schedule. The announcement will start from August 8 to 13, 2026. Applications will be received electronically and in paper form using the unified forms within the colleges from August 15 to 27. The arbitration phase will take place in the colleges from August 29 to September 10. The deadline for receiving nominations is 2:00 PM. The final arbitration phase will start at the university level from September 12 to 17, 2026 The closing ceremony date will be determined later.

    Regarding the application and communication mechanism, applications are submitted electronically and in paper form within the colleges via the unified form, attaching the required documents according to the specified schedule announced on the university's website and the colleges' websites, indicating the possibility of direct communication with the university's graduate studies and research sector or the office of the college's vice dean for graduate studies to respond to all inquiries.
