Prof. Mohamed Hussein: A new continental achievement confirms the ability of university students to compete and raise Egypt's name in sports forums

Prof. El-Sayed El-Agouz: We continue to discover and nurture sports talents and support our students to reach the podium

    Prof. Mohamed Hussein, President of Tanta University, announced that the university champions have achieved a new continental sporting accomplishment, after winning 4 bronze medals during their participation in the African Universities Championship, which witnessed strong competition between an elite group of university students across the African continent, in the sports of wrestling, judo and taekwondo.

    The wrestling competitions witnessed the crowning of student Mohamed El-Saeed Abdel Nabi, from the Faculty of Law, with the bronze medal in the 65 kg weight class, while student Mohamed Alaa Abdel Moaty, from the Faculty of Sports Sciences, won the bronze medal in the 97 kg weight class.

    In the judo competitions, student Abdul Rahman Muhammad Ihab, from the College of Sports Sciences, won the bronze medal in the 81 kg weight category, while student Naglaa Nasser Al-Sayed, from the College of Sports Sciences, added the fourth bronze medal to the university's tally, after her brilliance in the taekwondo competitions in the 49 kg weight category.

    Prof. Mohamed Hussein stressed that this new continental achievement represents a source of pride for Tanta University, and reflects the distinguished athletic abilities and talents possessed by its students, praising the honorable performance of the university champions and the competitive spirit and determination they showed during the tournament competitions.

    The university president added that the students' success in winning four bronze medals in three different sports confirms their ability to compete and achieve honorable results in continental forums, in a manner befitting the name of Tanta University and Egypt, noting that the university places supporting talented and distinguished students in various fields among its priorities, and is keen to provide a supportive environment that enables them to develop their capabilities and hone their talents.

    The President of Tanta University extended his sincere congratulations to the winning students, the technical and administrative staff, and those in charge of the university's sports activity system, wishing the university champions to continue the path of success, achieve more achievements, and raise the name of Tanta University and Egypt high in local, continental, and international championships.

    For his part, Prof. Al-Sayed Al-Ajouz, Vice President of Tanta University for Education and Student Affairs, congratulated the university champions on the continental achievement, stressing that the results achieved by the students reflect the distinguished level of university sports at Tanta University, and the continuous efforts made to discover, nurture and qualify sports talents to compete in various tournaments.

    The Vice President of the University added that the education and students sector pay great attention to sports activities as one of the basic components in building the personality of the university student, stressing the continued provision of various aspects of support and care to athletically distinguished students, working to develop their levels and providing the appropriate environment that helps them achieve more achievements and reach podiums.

    This achievement comes as a culmination of the efforts of the sports activities system at Tanta University, and the continuous support provided by the university to its talented students, which enhances its presence in continental and international sports competitions, and confirms its role in discovering and caring for distinguished students in various fields, under the coordination of Prof. Magdy Wakouk, General Coordinator of Student Activities, and the general supervision and follow-up of Prof. Mohamed El-Qaseer, Director General of the General Administration of Student Care.
