On the first day of school.. President of Tanta University among students

Prof. Muhammad Hussein:

    Today, Prof. Mohamed Hussein, President of Tanta University, conducted an extensive inspection tour of a number of the university's faculties; to follow up on the regularity of the educational process with the start of the new academic year, to ensure the readiness of the faculties to receive students, to ensure the regularity of lectures and to provide a suitable and stimulating educational environment for learning and innovation.

    The tour included the Faculties of Arts and Law at the Faculty Complex in Sarbay, the Faculties of Dentistry and Pharmacy at the Medical Complex, and the Faculty of Commerce, in the presence of Prof. Al-Sayed Al-Ajouz, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs; Prof. Mona Al-Aasar, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy; Prof. Yasser Al-Jarf, Dean of the Faculty of Commerce; Prof. Ahmed Al-Arabi, Dean of the Faculty of Arts; Prof. Sami Abdel Aal, Dean of the Faculty of Law; and Prof. Yasser Makaki, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry.

    During the tour, the university president was keen to welcome new and old students and congratulate them on the new academic year, expressing his happiness to participate in the start of the first day of classes, and stressing that Tanta University seeks to provide an integrated university experience that is not limited to academic achievement, but extends to training, character building, skills development, and enhancing awareness, belonging, and social responsibility.

    Prof. Mohamed Hussein stressed that the challenges and rapid changes witnessed by the Arab region and the Middle East require strengthening national cohesion and awareness of the extent of the challenges surrounding the Egyptian state, supporting state institutions and maintaining their stability, which allows the continuation of construction and development efforts, and for Egypt to enjoy security and safety.

    He added that every individual in society bears responsibility from their position, and that the beginning for university students is to adhere to their academic and national duties, be aware of what is going on around them, reject destructive and extremist ideas, not be led by rumors or unreliable information, and contribute positively to spreading awareness among their colleagues and promoting the values of belonging, work and production.

    The university president stressed that building student awareness is one of the main axes of university work, affirming that the university does not only aim to graduate an academically distinguished student, but also seeks to prepare a graduate who is aware of the issues of his country and society, capable of critical thinking and distinguishing between correct and misleading information, and aware of his responsibility towards his society.

    During his tour, the university president held direct dialogues with the students and listened to their opinions, suggestions and inquiries, stressing that direct and continuous communication with the students represents one of the main axes for improving educational and student services, and that his office is open to all students to listen to them and interact with their needs.

    Prof. Mohammed Hussein called on students to actively participate in the activities, events and competitions organized by the university in various fields, and to benefit from the specialized centers provided by the university, most notably the Professional Development Center, the Center for the Care of Gifted and Innovative Students, and the Awareness Development Center, as they provide opportunities to discover talents, develop capabilities, hone skills and build personality.

    He also urged students to prepare early for labor market requirements, work continuously to develop their skills, and benefit from scholarships and training programs offered by the university in the fields of languages, information technology, and professional and personal skills, in a way that enhances their competitiveness and readiness for professional life after graduation.

    The University President stressed that Tanta University will continue to develop its material capabilities, infrastructure, educational and technological equipment, and provide all necessary requirements to support the educational process and create a university environment that stimulates learning, creativity, innovation and excellence.

    During his inspection of the Faculty of Dentistry, Prof. Mohamed Hussein also met with a number of international students while they were attending practical lectures. He checked on the regularity of their studies and listened to their opinions and impressions about their educational experience at the university, stressing Tanta University's keenness to provide various means of support and care to all its Egyptian and international students.

    For his part, Prof. Al-Sayed Al-Ajouz, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, congratulated the students on the new academic year, wishing them a year full of success and excellence, and stressing the importance of committing to attendance and regularity in studies according to the announced schedules, and benefiting from the capabilities and services provided by the university.

    The Vice President of the University stressed the importance of engaging in student activities from the first day of study, as they play a role in developing skills, building personality, and enhancing the spirit of participation and teamwork, praising the efforts of the General Administration of Student Welfare in preparing an integrated plan for student activities for the new academic year, which includes various programs and events that meet Students' interests and provide them with real opportunities to discover their talents and develop their abilities.
