Prof. Muhammad Hussein: Universities, with their scientific expertise and youth energies, are capable of enriching the national dialogue and providing realistic visions for the future of development
Prof. Mohamed Hussein, President of Tanta University, called on the university's students, faculty members, auxiliary staff members, researchers, and workers in the university's various colleges and sectors to register and participate actively in the «Egypt Forum 2026», scheduled to be held during the period from October 19 to 24 under the title «A look at the day.. Vision for Tomorrow», participating in academic and community discussions and dialogues preceding the forum, expressing their opinions, and presenting their visions and suggestions on the issues and files up for discussion.
Prof. Mohamed Hussein stressed that the call by His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, for state institutions, experts and citizens of all stripes to participate and present visions and proposals, opens a wide space for the university community to contribute its scientific, research and intellectual expertise, explaining that universities represent one of the most important national houses of expertise, and that the participation of their professors, researchers and students allows for the presentation of scientific and practical visions based on knowledge, research and realistic experience.
The President of Tanta University explained that the «Egypt Forum 2026» represents a national platform for dialogue on development and partnership paths, bringing together citizens, experts, specialists and decision-makers, with the aim of reading what has been achieved over the past years in an objective manner, discussing existing challenges and gaps, and evaluating the impact of development policies, projects and programmes on citizens' lives, in order to determine priorities and courses of action during the next stage.
He pointed out that the importance of the forum stems from its reliance on the integration of official data and indicators, the actual citizen experience, and the specialized opinion and analysis provided by experts, researchers, universities, think tanks, and representatives of various sectors, which contributes to forming a more comprehensive vision of what has been achieved, what needs to be completed or developed, and the procedures and interventions required in the future.
Prof. Mohammed Hussein added that the university particularly encourages faculty members, researchers, and supporting staff to share their ideas, scientific analyses, and practical proposals. It also urges students and youth to invest in this space to present their visions, aspirations, and the challenges they face in the fields of education, work, innovation, entrepreneurship, and digital transformation. He emphasized that engaging youth and academic expertise in discussions on development issues strengthens the link between scientific knowledge and the actual needs of society.
The university president explained that the forum's axes are directly related to many areas of university work, as the discussions address human development issues, most notably the future of education and its ability to qualify students for the future, youth and sports, culture and the social value system, in addition to the axis of integrated development and quality of life for citizens, which includes urban and urban development, citizen health, and the transition towards «Digital Egypt».
The forum's activities also include the axis of community protection and security and the related social protection system, food and water security, in addition to the economic axis that discusses Egypt's energy progress and future prospects, productive investment, competitive industry, sustainable job opportunities, monetary resources and debt management, and the features of the Egyptian economic program until 2030, in addition to sessions, workshops and specialized dialogues on a number of files that affect society's priorities.
He added that the forum does not only aim to review the projects and policies that have been achieved, but also extends to discussing the results and their effects, monitoring gaps and challenges, and considering possible alternatives, in order to arrive at outputs and priorities that can be translated into specific implementation programs and movements that can be followed up and measured.
