Tanta University shines in the 14th Universities Youth Week in Minya, winning 10 places and medals


gold, 2 silver, and 5 bronze medals... and excellence in cultural, sports, scouting, scientific, and artistic fields.


    Tanta University achieved a distinguished harvest during its participation in the activities of the fourteenth Universities and Higher Institutes Youth Week, which was held under the patronage of Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, and hosted by Minya University during the period from September 25 to 30, 2026, under the slogan «From the Heart of Upper Egypt.. We are creative», with the participation of universities and higher institutes from various parts of the Republic.


    Tanta University students and participating teams succeeded in winning 10 places and medals, including 3 gold medals and first places, 2 silver medals and 2 second places, 5 bronze medals and third places, in addition to a number of distinguished individual titles, in a harvest that reflects the diversity of students' talents and their ability to compete in various fields of university activities.


    Prof. Mohamed Hussein, President of Tanta University, congratulated the winning students and all members of the delegation, supervisors and trainers, stressing that what the university students achieved reflects their distinguished abilities and talents, and embodies the university's interest in building the student's integrated personality, and supporting his participation in cultural, sports, artistic, scientific and scouting activities, as they are an essential component of the educational process. He stressed the university's continued support for the talented and enabling them to represent Tanta University in an honorable manner in various forums.


    Prof. El-Sayed El-Ajouz, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, stressed that the distinguished harvest came as a result of good preparation, continuous training and integration between student activities sectors, noting that the university is working to expand the base of student participation, discover talents, hone students' skills and develop their leadership and creative abilities, praising the distinguished performance and competitive spirit provided by the Tanta University delegation throughout the week's activities.


    The first places included Tanta University scouts obtaining first place and the gold medal after achieving the first level in 11 scouting fields, including religion and life, scientific and environmental applications, arts and literature, economics and citizenship, aspiration for leadership, life skills, public service and community development, scouting traditions and arts, health and sports, and scouting values and trends.


    The cultural activity also won two gold medals, after the university team consisting of student Kholoud Hassan Al-Batahji at the Faculty of Medicine and student Abdel Aziz Ahmed Abdel Aziz at the Faculty of Engineering won first place in the Cultural Information League, in addition to student Nourhan Al-Shahawi winning first place in the essay competition.


     In sports competitions, the Tanta University Basketball Team – Students achieved second place and the silver medal, and student Mohamed Nasser, in the fourth year of the Faculty of Medicine, also won second place in the Ideal Student Competition.


        The university continued its presence on the podiums by winning five third places, including third place in the general carnival, third place for the university choir team, third place in the science fair, and third place in the fine arts exhibition in the field of color drawing for non-specialists, in addition to the student Mustafa Abdel Azim Al-Sayed, in the fifth year of the Faculty of Medicine, won third place in the classical poetry competition.


        The week’s activities also witnessed outstanding individual achievements by the university’s students. Ahmed Rady, a Scout from the Faculty of Computers and Information, was awarded the title of “Ideal Scout” at the level of Egyptian universities. Amr Taha, a Scout from the Faculty of Computers and Information, was awarded the title of “Ideal Scout” at the level of Tanta University’s delegation. Meanwhile, Nouran Mohamed, a Girl Scout from the Faculty of Engineering, was awarded the title of “Ideal Girl Scout” at the level of the university’s delegation.


    Tanta University's participation came under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Hussein, President of the University, the leadership and guidance of Prof. Al-Sayed Al-Ajouz, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, the general coordination of Dr. Magdy Wakouk, General Coordinator of Student Activities, and the general supervision of Dr. Mohamed Abdel Rahim Al-Qaseer, Director General of the General Administration of Student Welfare.
