To Examine Patients and to Give them Medicaments for Free, Tanta University Organizes a Medical Convoy at Al-Huda Charitable Complex

Tanta University organized a medical convoy at Al-Huda Charitable Complex in Tanta where it offered medical care services in many specialties under patronage of Prof. Mahmoud Zaki, University President, in attendance of Prof. Mahmoud Selim, University Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Prof. Mohamed El-Shebini, Vice Dean of Faculty of Medicine for Community Service and Environmental Development. The convoy was held to examine residents of the complex who are ill and to give them medicaments for free.

    Prof. Mahmoud Zaki declared that the convoy was organized in the context of the national service and developmental role played by the university according to the national sustainable development strategy; it aimed also to present comprehensive medical care to different categories of society. He affirmed that all residents of Al-Huda Charitable Complex were examined including the Retirement Home, Al-Azab House for Orphan Girls and the Disabled, and Homeless Children’s House.

   Moreover, Prof. Mahmoud Selim, University Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, pointed out that the convoy reflects the effective social participation of the university and its continuous communication with society in achievement of the national strategy of higher education and scientific research coping with sustainable development goals of the United Nations and Egypt’s vision 2030. In addition, he stated that medical care services were offered to 40 old persons, 17 children and 20 disabled orphans.

   Furthermore, Prof. Mohamed El-Shebini declared that the convoy included outstanding cadres in various specialties such as ophthalmology, pediatrics, internal medicine, cardiology, ENT, general surgery and orthopedic surgery. He added that all medical supplies and medicaments were offered for free and cases that needed further examination were transferred to University Hospitals.
