Prof. Mohamed Hussein, Acting President of Tanta University, participated in the celebration of the 75th anniversary of Fulbright Educational and Cultural Exchange Program between the Arab Republic of Egypt and the United States of America. He also attended the opening of the symposium “From Lab to Market,” organized by Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Fulbright Commission marking the celebration. The event was attended by Prof. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development, Minister of Health and Population; Prof. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research; Mrs. Herro Mustafa, U.S. Ambassador to Cairo; Prof. Maggie Nassif, Executive Director of Fulbright Commission; as well as a group of ambassadors, university presidents, Fulbright Commission leaders, and ministry officials.

   According to a statement released by Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the celebration highlighted the role of innovation in connecting scientific research with industry to enhance the national economy. The statement also showed that Egypt has advanced to 86th place on the Global Innovation Index and that Greater Cairo has been ranked among the top 100 "Science and Technology Clusters". Moreover, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research affirmed the importance of educational and cultural exchange programs in honing the skills and abilities of young people.
