Prof. Mohamed Hussein: "I extend my gratitude to the political leaders for their unprecedented support for our children with disabilities."
Prof. Mohamed Hussein, Acting President of Tanta University, participated today in the opening ceremony of "Empowerment" initiative at Delta Region Alliance Universities, held at Mansoura University. The event was organized under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, and attended by Prof. Sherif Youssef Khater, President of Mansoura University; Prof. Reda Hegazy, President of Al-Riyada University and former Minister of Education; Prof. Hamdan Rabie, President of Damietta University; Prof. Moawad Al-Kholy, President of New Mansoura University; Prof. Yehia Al-Mashhad, President of Delta University for Science and Technology; Prof. El-Said Abdel Hady, President of Horus University; along with several vice presidents of the participating universities. Prof. Mohamed Zain Al-Abidin, Manager of the Center for Disabled Students at Faculty of Arts, Tanta University; Mohamed Al-Qasir, General Manager of the General Administration for Student Affairs at Tanta University; and a delegation of students with disabilities from the university also attended the event.
Prof. Mohamed Hussein started his talk by thanking His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi for his ongoing support for our children with disabilities. He commended the "Empowerment" initiative, implemented by Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in cooperation with the international "Hope Giver Campaign (THGC), aiming to raise awareness of the rights and responsibilities of students with disabilities at Egyptian universities and providing them with equal opportunities. He affirmed that Tanta University give a high priority to its students with disabilities, seeking continuously to meet their needs and encourage their active participation to empower and integrate them into a comprehensive university community.
Furthermore, the Acting President of Tanta University presented an overview of the university’s strategy to support its students with special needs. He highlighted the university’s main objectives, including accessibility, integration, participation, and empowerment, as well as the practical measures offered to students in collaboration with various organizations and institutions.
