A cooperation protocol was signed between Tanta University and Gharbia branch of the World Organization for Al-Azhar Graduates. It was signed by both Prof. Mohamed Hussein, Acting President of Tanta University, and Prof. Seif Ragab Qazamel, former Dean of Faculty of Sharia and Law in Tanta, President of the World Organization for Al-Azhar Graduates in Gharbia, and member of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs. The protocol aims to enhance intellectual and cultural awareness among youth.
The signing ceremony was attended by Prof. Badea Ali Al-Tamlawy, former Dean of Faculty of Islamic and Arabic Studies for Girls in Alexandria and Vice President of the World Organization for Al-Azhar Graduates in Gharbia; Prof. Hassan Mohamed Eid, Lecturer of Comparative Jurisprudence at Faculty of Sharia and Law in Tanta and board member of the organization in Gharbia; and Hussein Talha, Public Relations Officer of the organization in Gharbia.
Prof. Mohamed Hussein welcomed the attendees from the Gharbia branch of the World Organization for Al-Azhar Graduates, voicing his happiness in collaboration with the organization to enhance intellectual awareness and enlightenment among university students through various activities and events held by the organization at the university. He affirmed that the university is keen on establishing cooperation protocols with various institutions to maximize benefits and to meet the objectives of the national strategy for higher education and scientific research, the state's strategic plan, and Egypt's Vision 2030.
Prof. Mohamed Hussein declared that the protocol aims to organize symposiums and awareness lectures at the university and its faculties to promote moderate thought, correct misconceptions, highlight the tolerance of Islam and the efforts of the state in combating terrorism and extremism, and counter destructive extremist ideologies. The protocol also seeks to shed light on development aspects in various fields, focusing on mental health, and combating rumors.
