Tanta University Hosts a Symposium Titled "The Role of the Administrative Control Authority in Preventing and Combating Corruption"


   Tanta University hosted a symposium today organized by the Administrative Control Authority Office in Gharbia Governorate titled "The Role of the Administrative Control Authority in Preventing and Combating Corruption". The event was held at the headquarters of University Administration, in the attendance of Major General Ashraf El-Gendy, Gharbia Governor; Prof. Mohamed Hussein, Acting President of the University; Brigadier General Ibrahim Abdel Moneim, Head of the Administrative Control Authority Office in Gharbia; Prof. Mahmoud Selim, Vice President of Tanta University for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Mahmoud Essa, Deputy Gharbia Governor; Major General Ahmed Anwar, Secretary-General of Gharbia Governorate; along with several deans, academic staff members, university staff, and students.
   At the beginning of his speech, Prof. Mohamed Hussein extended deep appreciation and respect to the Administrative Control Authority and its dedicated personnel on the occasion of the International Anti-Corruption Day, observed annually on December 9. He commended the Authority’s historic achievements, highlighting its commitment to upholding the principles of integrity, transparency, equality, and the rule of law. He lauded its role in fostering public trust in state institutions, aligning with Egypt's Vision 2030 and the construction of the New Republic under the wise leadership of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
   Furthermore, Prof. Hussein affirmed that corruption is a complex social, political, and economic phenomenon affecting countries worldwide. He explained its detrimental impact on national institutions, rule of law, and principles of justice, equality, and transparency, while also obstructing national developmental plans and destabilizing governance. He pointed out that corruption poses a direct threat to foreign investment.
   Moreover, he confirmed that Tanta University seeks to establish an integrated governance system guided by clear metrics and indicators. These efforts aim to achieve strategic goals, foster a productive work environment, and optimize institutional performance. The system links employee performance to institutional objectives, and connects financial incentives to productivity, in addition to enhancing human resource efficiency through training and professional development plans for academic staff and employees.
    The symposium featured a video presentation that showed the efforts of the Administrative Control Authority. The event concluded with Prof. Mohamed Hussein presenting University Shields to Major General Ashraf El-Gendy and Brigadier General Ibrahim Abdel Moneim. Additionally, Major General El-Gendy presented the Governorate Shield to Prof. Mohamed Hussein and Brigadier General Ibrahim Abdel Moneim.
