Prof. Mohamed Hussein, Tanta University President, participated today in the Faculty of Engineering Council meeting, held in the presence of Prof. Ahmed Nasr, Dean of the Faculty, the faculty’s vice deans, and council members, to review the latest updates concerning the faculty and to discuss future plans for enhancing both the educational and research processes.
During the meeting, Prof. Hussein praised the quality of educational and research services provided by the Faculty of Engineering, as well as its outstanding efforts in community service and in graduating highly qualified engineers capable of contributing to comprehensive development. He emphasized the faculty’s pivotal role in supporting the university in achieving its strategic goals and reaffirmed the administration’s full support for the faculty in advancing its academic and research programs.
He also directed the need to establish units dedicated to evaluating academic programs and their alignment with labor market needs, and to develop a plan to update curricula based on the latest academic standards and evolving market demands. This, he stated, is essential for producing graduates equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to compete in local, regional, and international job markets.
As a gesture of appreciation, the University President honored the organizing team of the 6th International Conference on Advances in Structural and Geotechnical Engineering, which was held in Hurghada over four days from April 14 to 17, 2025. He presented certificates of appreciation to the team members and commended their sincere efforts and outstanding organization, which significantly contributed to the success and impact of the conference.
For his part, Prof. Ahmed Nasr, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the University President for attending the council meeting and for his ongoing support. He also congratulated the conference team on their success and excellence, emphasizing that such recognition serves as a strong motivation for all to continue working with dedication and a spirit of teamwork to achieve further accomplishments for both the faculty and the university.
