Prof. Mohamed Hussein, Tanta University President and Chair of the Committee for Selecting Faculty Deans, announced today, Monday, the opening of the application period for candidacy for the position of Dean of the Faculty of Medicine. Applications are open to full professors currently serving at the faculty and will be accepted from Sunday, June 22, 2025, until Saturday, June 28, 2025.

According to the announced timeline:

• Sunday, June 29, 2025: Review of submitted files and announcement of the preliminary list of candidates.

• Monday, June 30, and Tuesday, July 1, 2025: Receipt of appeals.

• Wednesday, July 2, 2025: Announcement of the final list of candidates.

• Tuesday, July 8, 2025: Review of application files, personal interviews, and preparation of the final report.

Application Submission Requirements:

Each applicant must submit six complete files (one original and five copies), each accompanied by a USB flash drive containing a PDF version of the complete original file. Each file must include the following:

1. Candidacy application form.

2. Official employment status certificate, approved by the university.

3. A detailed CV, submitted under the responsibility of the applicant.

4. Supporting documents for all academic and administrative achievements mentioned in the CV, including positions held, awards received, and research papers or studies authored or co-authored.

5. A comprehensive action plan detailing proposed development strategies, reform approaches, and suggestions for growth and improvement.

Each file must address the criteria outlined in Ministerial Decree No. 1365 of 2022 and its amendments in Ministerial Decree No. 2468 of 2024, covering the following:

• Leadership abilities

• Administrative skills

• Mechanisms for implementing the national vision for higher education and scientific research in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030

• Communication skills

• Financial and human resources management capabilities

• Research competencies

• General competencies

• Relevance and feasibility of the submitted action plan with respect to the university's current situation

Eligibility Criteria for Candidacy:

1. The applicant must be a full professor currently serving at the Faculty of Medicine at the time of application.

2. The applicant must be actively employed at the university at the time of submitting the application.

3. The applicant must not have previously held the position of dean by appointment more than once.

4. The applicant must not have been convicted of a criminal offense or a crime involving moral turpitude or dishonesty, unless legally rehabilitated.

5. The applicant must not have been subjected to disciplinary penalties unless such penalties were annulled, expunged, or withdrawn by the competent authority.

6. The applicant must not hold any partisan position at the time of candidacy and throughout the term of office.

Applications will be received daily from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM during the specified application period. All required documents must be submitted to the Committee Secretariat at the office of the President of the University and Chair of the Committee, and each application file will be timestamped to record the exact time and date of submission.
