Tanta University Council Holds Regular Meeting with the Governor of Gharbia in Attendance


Major General Dr. Alaa Abdel-Moaty:
- The university represents the scientific and advisory arm of the governorate.

Prof. Mohamed Hussein:
- The university is harnessing all its scientific and research capabilities to be a strategic partner for Gharbia Governorate.

   The Tanta University Council held its regular meeting for February today, chaired by Prof. Mohamed Hussein, President of Tanta University. Attendees included Major General Dr. Alaa Abdel-Moaty, Governor of Gharbia; Prof. Fouad Harras, former President of Tanta University; Prof. Mahmoud Selim, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Hatem Amin, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research; Prof. El-Sayed El-Agouz, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs; deans of faculties; Counselor Khairy Amara, the university's legal advisor; and Accountant Ahmed Rashad, the university's secretary-general.
   Prof. Mohamed Hussein opened the session by welcoming Major General Prof. Alaa Abdel-Moaty, Governor of Gharbia, on his first visit to the university. He congratulated him on the political leadership's confidence in him and his appointment as Governor of Gharbia, praising his commitment to fieldwork from his first day in office. He also congratulated Prof. Abdel-Aziz Qansouh on his appointment as Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, wishing him success in continuing the achievements and developing the higher education system in Egypt. He further extended his congratulations to the university community on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan.
   Prof. Hussein emphasized that the university is dedicating all its scientific and research capabilities to be a strategic partner of Gharbia Governorate. He stressed that integration among state institutions is the cornerstone of implementing the state's plan for human development. He directed that student graduation projects in practical faculties (engineering, computer science, and information technology) be linked to the actual developmental needs of the governorate. This is to ensure that students' and researchers' ideas are transformed into practical projects that serve citizens, achieve investment in knowledge, and contribute to developing students' awareness and sense of belonging, recognizing them as key partners in the sustainable development process.
   During his speech, Major General Dr. Alaa Abdel-Moaty, Governor of Gharbia, expressed his great pleasure at being present at the prestigious Tanta University. He congratulated Prof. Mohamed Hussein, the members of the University Council, and all its staff on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan. He emphasized that the university represents the "scientific and advisory arm" of the governorate, stressing that true success can only be achieved through teamwork and complete harmony between the governorate's departments and the university. He also pledged to provide all means of support and assistance to the university to enable it to fulfill its enlightening and service-oriented role to the fullest extent.
   In this context, the governor revealed the governorate's intention to form a "Visual Identity Committee," emphasizing the need to utilize the university's experts and scholars to implement this project in a scientific and systematic manner that ensures sustainability and enhances the urban landscape of the governorate's cities and centers, reflecting the rich history and heritage of Gharbia.
