An Unprecedented Development Epic: Tanta University Sets Records in "Decent Life" with 1,543 Convoys and Serving One Million Citizens at a Cost of 68 Million Egyptian Pounds

Prof. Mohamed Hussein, President of Tanta University, reviewed a statistical report submitted by Prof. Mahmoud Selim, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, documenting the exceptional achievements in supporting the presidential initiative "Decent Life" for the development of rural Egypt, from its launch until February 2026. The report revealed a tremendous leap in the volume of services provided, with the university successfully reaching 1,077,828 beneficiaries under its umbrella, with total investments and costs amounting to 68.2 million Egyptian pounds.

The report highlighted the university's success in implementing the "Convoy Every Day" strategy, with 1,543 comprehensive development convoys. These convoys successfully provided medical care to 379,825 citizens and achieved a significant breakthrough in literacy efforts, educating 207,650 citizens. The developmental impact also extended to the veterinary sector, protecting 851,647 head of livestock, and the agricultural sector, serving 207,368 farmers, in addition to economic empowerment efforts and social assistance that reached tens of thousands of vulnerable families.

Prof. Mohamed Hussein affirmed that the unprecedented developmental leaps witnessed by Egypt under President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi are an achievement that history will record in letters of gold. He noted that the tangible results on the ground demonstrate a historic development in all areas of development for all segments of Egyptian society without exception. He added that Tanta University's strategic vision stems from this national movement, pointing out that universities are the scientific engine for achieving the goals of Egypt's Vision 2030. This is accomplished by harnessing all human and technological resources to ensure that presidential initiatives are translated into tangible realities that transform the lives of citizens in villages and rural areas, with a focus on sustainability, human development, and strengthening the values of citizenship. The university will always remain a strong supporter of the Egyptian state in the battle for construction and development.

For his part, Prof. Mahmoud Selim explained that the executive mechanisms in the community service and environmental development sector are based on the methodology of integration and geographical spread, as the comprehensive convoy system that tours the most needy villages has been developed in coordination with the Cabinet and the concerned authorities, and through activating an institutional framework that links the university’s colleges and hospitals with the various state bodies to ensure the sustainability of the impact, with an intensive focus on the axes of economic empowerment and support for rural innovation, and expanding the scope of medical, veterinary and agricultural convoys, to ensure that quality service reaches those who deserve it with the highest standards of quality and effectiveness, in implementation of the presidential directives to achieve a decent life for every Egyptian.
