Tanta University Community Service Council Discusses Proposal for the 2026 Innovation, Internationalization, and Career Development Forum

The Community Service and Environmental Development Council of Tanta University, chaired by Prof. Mahmoud Farouk Selim, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, discussed a proposal to organize the 2026 Tanta University Innovation, Internationalization, and Career Development Forum under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Hussein, Tanta University President. The proposed forum is considered an integrated institutional platform aimed at strengthening ties between the university and the industrial and employment sectors while transforming academic and research knowledge into practical applications and partnerships that generate sustainable developmental and economic impact.
The presentation outlined the forum's executive vision, institutional identity, practical objectives, and target audiences. It also reviewed the proposed model for integration between the university, industrial sectors, and community institutions, as well as the mechanisms for the participation of faculties, centers, and relevant university units in implementing its activities.
The presentation further highlighted the forum's main themes, including innovation, applied projects, and prototypes; industry and advanced technologies; career development and future skills; internationalization, partnerships, and knowledge dissemination; digital transformation, entrepreneurship, and support for the national economy. These themes aim to build a university ecosystem that is more closely aligned with the needs of society and the labor market and better equipped to produce practical solutions.
Prof. Mahmoud Farouk Selim emphasized that the proposed forum is founded on a comprehensive set of national and institutional frameworks, foremost among them Egypt’s Vision 2030, the National Strategy for Higher Education and Scientific Research, the state's directions toward supporting innovation and entrepreneurship, and strengthening partnerships between academic institutions and productive sectors, in addition to Tanta University's strategy to transform into a fourth-generation university.
The Vice President added that the forum's themes are directly aligned with the principles of integration, interdisciplinarity, connectivity, active participation, and sustainability. They also support the university's vision for the internationalization of its activities, the professional development of its students and graduates, and the alignment of academic and research programs with the rapidly evolving labor market and the needs of industry and development sectors.
He further explained that the forum represents a practical step toward establishing a permanent platform for interaction between the university and its partners, facilitating the exchange of expertise and knowledge, exploring future opportunities, and developing joint initiatives that contribute to sustainable development while maximizing the university's economic and societal impact.
