El-Mahalla District Receives Tanta University’s Enhanced Development Convoy as Part of the Activities of the President’s “A New Beginning for Human Development” Initiative

   Tanta University continued to launch its enhanced development convoys as part of its community service activities under the presidential “A New Beginning for Human Development” initiative, in Kafr El-Geneina Village, El-Mahalla El-Kubra District, under the auspices of Prof. Mohamed Hussein, Tanta University President, and in the presence of Prof. Mahmoud Selim, Vice President of Tanta University for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Mohamed El-Shebiny, Supervisor of the medical convoys affiliated with the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector on behalf of the Faculty of Medicine; and Prof. Sherin Farouk Hammad, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy for Community Service and Environmental Development.

   The convoy provided medical examination services to the residents of the village, with 930 cases examined through medical clinics covering a number of specialties, including neurosurgery, pediatrics, orthopedic surgery, dermatology, internal medicine, urology, ENT, chest diseases, general surgery, ophthalmology and eye surgery, cardiovascular medicine, and presidential health initiatives. The necessary medications were also provided to patients free of charge.

   The cases examined in each specialty were as follows: 53 cases in neurosurgery, including 6 referrals to university hospitals; 137 cases in pediatrics, including 30 referrals; 91 cases in orthopedic surgery, including 8 referrals; 118 cases in dermatology, including 3 referrals; 73 cases in internal medicine, including 2 referrals; 45 cases in urology, including 30 referrals; 45 cases in ENT, including 30 referrals; 61 cases in chest diseases, including 40 referrals; 57 cases in general surgery; 99 cases in ophthalmology and eye surgery, including 6 referrals; 20 cases in cardiovascular medicine; and 129 cases under the health initiatives.

   The convoy was organized as part of Tanta University’s commitment to continuing its role in community service and bringing medical services to citizens in various villages and areas. This contributes to supporting the state’s efforts to achieve the objectives of the presidential “A New Beginning for Human Development” initiative, improve the level of services provided to citizens, enhance the quality of life, and participate in human development in Egypt.
