Tanta University’s Child University Program Organizes a Diverse Training Day at the Faculties of Science, Arts, and Engineering

In Cooperation with the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology (ASRT), Tanta University’s Child University Program Organizes a Diverse Training Day at the Faculties of Science, Arts, and Engineering

   As part of the implementation of the activities of the Child University Program, under the auspices of Prof. Mohamed Hussein, Tanta University President, and under the supervision of Prof. Mahmoud Farouk Selim, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Tanta University organized a diverse training day during which three of its faculties welcomed students from the sixth, seventh, and eighth stages. The event aimed to develop the children’s intellectual and creative skills, introduce them to various university disciplines, and connect knowledge with practical application in a university environment that encourages learning and discovery.

   The activities held on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, included the Faculty of Science welcoming students of the sixth stage – Level (F1), the Faculty of Arts welcoming students of the seventh stage – Level (E2), and the Faculty of Engineering welcoming students of the eighth stage – Level (E1), in a training day that combined science, technology, culture, and skills development.

   At the Faculty of Science, the faculty welcomed the children and their parents under the auspices of Prof. Abeer Alam Al-Din, Faculty Dean, in the presence of Prof. Zenhom El-Said, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs; Prof. Samir Zaki Qamh, Coordinator of the Child University Program at Tanta University; and a number of faculty members.

   The program introduced the children to the Faculty of Science, its departments, and career opportunities for its graduates, in addition to specialized scientific lectures. Students in the medical track learned about the structure of the microscope and how it works, as well as basic concepts of anatomy and physiology, while students in the energy and environment track explored nature, ecosystems, and the factors affecting them.

   At the Faculty of Arts, Prof. Ahmed Ebada El-Araby, Faculty Dean; Prof. Raafat Abu El-Enein, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs; and Dr. Dalia Salam, Coordinator of Child University at the faculty, welcomed the seventh-stage students and their parents.

   The program included a range of cultural and skills-development activities, including a lecture on education in ancient Egypt and the importance of preserving heritage, a workshop on developing emotional regulation skills, as well as a tour of the laboratories of the Department of Geography to learn about remote sensing technologies. The program also included a visit to the Service Center for Students with Disabilities (The Blind Welfare Center) and the faculty’s Educational Museum, thereby strengthening the children’s scientific, cultural, and humanitarian awareness.

   The Faculty of Engineering also welcomed eighth-stage students under the auspices of Prof. Ahmed Mohamed Nasr, Faculty Dean; Prof. Walaa Nour, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs; Prof. Samir Zaki Qamh; and Dr. Eman El-Ghamry, Coordinator of the program at the faculty.

   The program featured scientific activities covering the fundamentals of programming and the Python language, the concept of machine learning and its applications, as well as different types of energy, their sources and transformations, recycling and reducing the environmental footprint, in addition to the principles of urban planning and selecting suitable sites for urban expansion.
