Tanta University’s Child University Program Organizes Two Days of Diverse Training at the Faculties of Computer and Information, Medicine, and Agriculture

In cooperation with the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology (ASRT), Tanta University’s Child University Program Organizes Two Days of Diverse Training at the Faculties of Computer and Information, Medicine, and Agriculture

   As part of the activities of the Child University Program, and under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Hussein, Tanta University President, and under the supervision of Prof. Mahmoud Farouk Selim, Tanta University Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Tanta University organized two days of diverse training activities. The Faculties of Computer and Information, Medicine, and Agriculture hosted students from the sixth, seventh, and eighth stages, with the aim of developing their intellectual and creative skills in the fields of technology, health, and the environment, while linking knowledge to practical application in a stimulating university environment that encourages learning and discovery.

   The activities included the Faculty of Computer and Information hosting seventh-stage students, Level (E2), on Monday, August 17, 2026, and eighth-stage students, Level (E1), on Tuesday, August 18. On the same day, the Faculties of Medicine and Agriculture hosted sixth-stage students, Level (F1), in the Medical and Energy & Environment tracks.

   As part of his commitment to on-site follow-up, Prof. Mahmoud Farouk Selim conducted an inspection tour to check on the students and follow up on the progress of the activities. He listened to their views on modern technology, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity, commending their enthusiasm for these fields and their eagerness to learn about their applications. In addition, he emphasized the importance of developing the skills of this generation in line with the future demands.

   At the Faculty of Computer and Information, the students were welcomed in the presence of Prof. Nancy El-Hefnawy, Faculty Dean; Prof. Omnia El-Barbary, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Samir Zaki Qamh, Coordinator of the Child University Program at Tanta University; and Prof. Aida Nasr, Head of the Information Technology Department and the faculty’s Program Coordinator.

   The program introduced students to the concept of Prompt Engineering and how to formulate clear prompts to obtain better results from artificial intelligence applications. It also covered the basic principles of cybersecurity, the safe use of technology and the Internet, and practical training on creating survey forms using Google Forms.

   At the Faculty of Medicine, the students were welcomed by Prof. Mohamed Hantira, Faculty Dean; Prof. Mohamed Gaber, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs and Supervisor of the faculty’s Vice Deanship for Community Service and Environmental Development; and Dr. Mona Qotait, the faculty’s Child University Program Coordinator, with the participation of several faculty members.

   Students in the Medical Track learned about the circulatory system, the parts of the heart, blood vessels, and the flow of blood, as well as the cardiac cycle and its stages. They were also introduced to blood pressure and how it is measured using a mercury sphygmomanometer through a simplified, hands-on scientific experience.

   At the Faculty of Agriculture, students in the Energy & Environment Track were welcomed under the supervision of Prof. Essawy Qassem, Faculty Dean; Prof. Adel Helal, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development; and Dr. Mai Amer, the faculty’s Program Coordinator.

   The program addressed the food chain and the transfer of energy and matter within an ecosystem, as well as potential changes within the ecosystem and their environmental impact. The students also toured several laboratories at the faculty to learn more about the nature of the work conducted there.

   This diversity reflects Tanta University’s commitment to providing children with a wide range of educational and practical experiences across its faculties, helping them discover their interests and abilities, develop their skills in critical thinking, creativity, and innovation, and connect knowledge with practical application.
