Under the Presidential Initiative "A New Beginning for Human Development", Kotour District Hosts Tanta University's Developmental Convoy
As part of its community service activities under the presidential initiative "A New Beginning for Human Development", Tanta University continued launching its comprehensive developmental convoys in the village of Damat, located in Kotour district. The convoy provided free medical examinations, medications, as well as awareness symposiums. The convoy was held under the supervision of Prof. Mohamed Hussein, Acting President of Tanta University, and Prof. Mahmoud Selim, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, in cooperation with Prof. Ahmed Ghoneim, Dean of Faculty of Medicine at Tanta University and Chairman of University Hospitals’ Board, in attendance of Prof. Sahar Al-Haggar, Vice Dean of Faculty of Pharmacy for Community Service and Environmental Development.
Medical examinations were provided to 1,053 patients across 14 specialties, including neurosurgery, pediatrics, orthopedic surgery, dermatology, internal medicine, urology, ENT, general surgery, chest diseases, psychiatry, ophthalmology, cardiology, gynecology, and the clinic of health initiatives. Necessary medicaments were distributed for free to all cases, and 94 cases were referred to Tanta University Hospitals for further examinations and treatment at no cost. In addition, veterinary services were offered for over 4,301 livestock and poultry. Literacy tests were also conducted for 15 citizens, with participation of a large number of academic staff members, doctors, and pharmacists.
