For the First Time in Tanta University's Developmental Convoys and in Cooperation with Directorate of Education in Gharbia, Students from Al-Salam School Participate in the Convoy to Basyoun District under the Presidential Initiative "A New Beginning for Human Development"

For the first time in Tanta University's developmental convoys, in collaboration with Directorate of Education in Gharbia, students from Al-Salam School made a remarkable contribution in the Convoy to Basyoun District

    Tanta University continued its series of comprehensive developmental convoys as part of its community service activities under the presidential initiative "A New Beginning for Human Development" in the village of Kafr Abo Hamar, located in Basyoun District. The convoy was held under the supervision of Prof. Mohamed Hussein, Acting President of Tanta University, and attended by Prof. Mahmoud Selim, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Sahar Al-Haggar, Vice Dean of Faculty of Pharmacy for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Loay Al-Ahwal, Acting Vice Dean of Faculty of Medicine for Community Service and Environmental Development; and the renowned journalist Nasser Abo Tahoun, Chairman of the Press Syndicate Committee in Gharbia.

    For the first time, the convoy had extensive participation of a student delegation from Al-Salam School in cooperation with Directorate of Education and Technical Education in Gharbia. The organizing team ensured the students were introduced to the concepts of volunteerism and its importance in shaping their personalities. Prof. Esmat Khorshid provided an overview of the “Creativity and Development Labs” project launched by Tanta University. The students enthusiastically registered for various programs prepared for age groups ranging from 6 to 15 years.

   Moreover, the students participated in dispensing free medications to citizens. Medical examinations were conducted for 904 citizens across 13 specialized clinics, with 66 cases referred for treatment at University Hospitals in collaboration with Faculty of Medicine and University Hospitals. In addition, veterinary services were provided for 4,983 livestock and poultry in collaboration with Directorate of Veterinary Medicine in Gharbia.

   Prof. Mahmoud Selim, during his inspection of the convoy’s activities, affirmed the commitment of Community Service and Environmental Development Sector to promoting volunteerism as a cornerstone of sustainable development for future generations. He indicated that volunteer work helps develop essential skills such as communication, teamwork, leadership, time management, and problem-solving.

   Furthermore, the Vice President for Community Service also expressed his gratitude to the participating medical teams for their tremendous efforts in delivering specialized healthcare services in cooperation with Faculty of Medicine and University Hospitals.
