Faculty of Computer and Information at Tanta University recently held its second Employment Forum for its graduates. The event took place in the Central Auditorium at Sibirbay campus, under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Hussein, Acting President of the University; Prof. Mahmoud Selim, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; and Prof. Nancy Al-Hefnawy, Acting Dean of the Faculty. It was organized under the supervision of Prof. Omnia El-Barbary, Acting Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Osama Ghoniem, Acting Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research; and Prof. Ahmed Selim, Manager of the Faculty's Alumni Unit. Representatives of various companies and training institutions attended the forum, providing opportunities for both recent and previous graduates to explore labor market needs across different specializations and apply for job opportunities offered during the event.
In his speech, Prof. Mahmoud Selim highlighted that the graduate employment initiative aligns with the strategy of the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector. This strategy included launching the first specialized employment platform among Egyptian universities, signing memorandums of understanding, establishing cooperation protocols, hosting roundtable discussions, and maintaining constant communication with companies and institutions across industrial and economic sectors. The goal is to identify the knowledge and skills required in the labor market, drawing up actionable plans to bridge the gap between these needs and the academic programs offered at the university. Prof. Selim confirmed that Faculty of Computer and Information is distinguished for its graduates, who enjoy significant employment opportunities aligned with future market demands. He also noted that past challenges in integrating graduates into the labor market stemmed from discrepancies between academic study and real-world application. The faculty is now committed to preparing graduates who are well-equipped and qualified for the job market.
