    Faculty of Pharmacy at Tanta University received the children participating in “A Child’s University” program under “Young Scientists for a Better Future” initiative, under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Gehan El-Fiqi, Acting President of the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology (ASRT), and Prof. Mohamed Hussein, Acting President of Tanta University; in the attendance of Prof. Mahmoud Selim, Vice President of Tanta University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs. The event was supervised and coordinated by Prof. Mona Al-Aasar, Dean of Faculty of Pharmacy; Prof. Sahar Al-Haggar, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Abdullah Khedr, Head of Chemistry Department at Faculty of Science and General Coordinator of “A Child’s University” at Tanta University; and Prof. Walaa Negm, Coordinator of “A Child’s University” at Faculty of Pharmacy and Manager of the Training Unit at the faculty. Also present was Prof. Naglaa El-Shitany, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs.

    The day’s events included a tour of the faculty’s laboratories, the fully equipped halls, and the distinctive facilities. Workshops were conducted as part of the health-related activities for “A Child’s University,” introducing the children to the composition and types of pharmaceutical and cosmetic products for skin and hair care. The children were also educated on the pharmacist’s role in guiding patients on the correct use and storage of different pharmaceutical products, adherence to medication expiration dates, and the importance of not taking any medications without a prescription.

    Furthermore, the day featured a workshop presented by pharmacist Nahla El-Deeb, Pharmaceutical Information Specialist at the Drug and Poison Information Center at the faculty. The workshop aimed to raise students’ awareness about identifying healthy foods and their components, understanding the nutritional values of various products, and distinguishing between healthy and unhealthy products. It included practical training on a variety of food products, such as kinds of juice, beverages, and other processed foods, ensuring that students could grasp and apply the information in the future as participants in “A Child’s University.”
