Community Service Sector at Tanta University Issues a Report on Supporting the Presidential Initiative "Bedaya" (Beginning)

Community Service Sector at Tanta University released its report on supporting the presidential initiative "Bedaya."

Prof. Mahmoud Salim, Vice President of Tanta University for Community Service and Environmental Development, chaired the periodic meeting of the Sector Council, attended by Prof. Mahmoud Eissa, Deputy Governor of Gharbia; Prof. Abeer Alam Al-Din, Dean of Faculty of Science; Prof. Faten Abu Talib, Dean of Faculty of Dentistry; Prof. Mohamed Ibrahim, Acting Dean of Faculty of Applied Arts; faculty vice deans, accountant Ahmed Rashad, University Secretary General; Engineer Nasser Hassan, Undersecretary of Ministry of Education in Gharbia; Ms. Hassnaa Ahmed Ibrahim, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Solidarity in Gharbia; Prof. Adel Abdel Aziz, Director of the Veterinary Medicine Directorate in Gharbia; Prof. Engineer Hamdy Shatta, Director of the Water and Sanitation Company in Gharbia; Mr. Mohamed Abdel Karim Al-Sharkasy, Director of the Environment Department in Gharbia Governorate; and Mr. Mohamed Abdel Mottaleb from the Environmental Affairs Agency.
Prof. Salim began the session by welcoming the Deputy Governor of Gharbia, highlighting the significant efforts of the governorate in supporting presidential initiatives and national projects with a comprehensive and integrative approach involving governmental and private institutions. He emphasized the strategic partnership between Tanta University and Gharbia Governorate.
Prof. Salim further noted that the initiative reflects the political leadership’s clear determination to improve living standards and implement future planning based on a purely national vision. He stressed the university’s commitment to supporting all presidential initiatives and national projects as part of its social responsibility and expressed pride in the complete coordination and integrative activities with Gharbia Governorate and other institutions. He added that the work is proceeding across various activities at the same time to establish a new mindset that strengthens trust between citizens and state institutions.
Prof. Salim presented a report detailing Tanta University’s efforts to support the presidential initiative "A New Beginning for Human Development," achieving major qualitative advancement in capacity building and providing comprehensive care to citizens and families in Gharbia Governorate. Key achievements included serving 60,330 citizens of all age groups and creating 9,674 job and training opportunities in collaboration with ministries and 53 industrial companies. In addition, Prof. Selim thanked all university deans, service centers, and participating teams.
Key Statistics from the Report:
• 114 comprehensive development convoys:
Beneficiaries: 40,558 individuals; veterinary cases: 79,463.
• 12 Creative Development Lab convoys: 2,202 beneficiaries recorded; 535 benefited from courses.
• 4 cooperation protocols signed.
• "Bedayat Khair" initiative: 12 seminars held in university faculties with 1,302 student beneficiaries.
• "Be Reassured" initiative: 3 visits benefiting 162 children.
• "A Child’s University" initiative: 7 visits benefiting 165 children.
• Career Development Centers: Beneficiaries: 11,352; collaboration with 53 companies created 374 job opportunities.
• A total of 3 employment fairs organized, providing 9,300 job and training opportunities.
• 3 economic empowerment convoys: Beneficiaries: 610.
• Social Solidarity Unit activities: 5 events.
• Seminars, courses, and workshops:
o 27 courses: 3,471 participants.
o 2 seminars: 238 participants.
o 2 workshops: 270 participants.
