Tanta University Council for Community Service and Environmental Development held its regular meeting on Thursday, July 17, 2025, to discuss many important initiatives and future action plans that aim to enhance the university’s role in community service and development.
During his presentation of the presidential initiative “Alliance and Development”, Prof. Mahmoud Selim, Tanta University Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, stated that Egypt’s political leadership is giving unprecedented attention to developing human capital in the education sector. He added that this focus is one of the core objectives of Egypt Vision 2030 and the National Strategy for Higher Education and Scientific Research, which aims to create a new generation of creative individuals capable of leading the country’s progress and advancement. He affirmed that the university is deeply committed to enhancing its role in identifying and nurturing innovators and gifted students from schools and early education stages.
Prof. Selim further affirmed that the university seeks to achieve this goal by launching initiatives and programs that allow students to refine their skills and promote their research and innovation abilities. In this context, he highlighted the “Young Researcher” initiative, which included presentations by students who ranked highest in artificial intelligence, medical sciences, and historical archaeology during the recent council meeting.
He concluded by stressing the launch of the initiative “Be Prepared, One Million Qualified Innovators,” in its second phase. It will be implemented through many international and regional partnerships. This fact stands as clear evidence of the success of the National Strategy for Higher Education and Scientific Research. It also serves as undeniable proof that the national vision for higher education is undergoing a profound transformation in terms of quality, targeted outcomes, and alignment with labor market needs.
