The two-week course was attended by 25 trainees from the General Authority for Literacy and Adult Education, and was organized in cooperation with Nour Misr Foundation Charity. The course aimed to empower participants and equipping them with the digital skills needed to keep pace with rapid technological advancements.
The graduation ceremony was held under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Hussein, Tanta University President, and in the presence of Prof. Mahmoud Selim, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; Dr. Samah Abu Zohra, the Graduation Ceremony Coordinator and Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Nour Misr Charity; Prof. Walid Samir, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Education for Education and Student Affairs and Manager of the Center for Languages and Continuing Education; Mr. Mohamed Abu El-Nabayel, Director of Branches at the General Authority for Adult Education; Dr. Aida Nasr, Assistant Professor at Faculty of Computer and Information; Dr. Amal Abdel Sattar, Executive Manager of the Main Community Services Center; Dr. Fatma El-Lamie, Manager of the Adult and Continuing Education Center; and Mr. Ahmed Abdel Ghani from the Public Relations Department of the General Authority for Adult Education.
The training program included several main areas to enhance participants’ digital awareness, most notably:
• Concepts of algorithms, the use of modern digital technologies and programming languages, and their potential role in accelerating institutional performance.
• Proper use of social media platforms, along with awareness of the risks of spreading rumors through them, stressing the importance of verifying information before sharing it.
Prof. Mahmoud Selim stated that recent data analyzed by a university research team show that artificial intelligence and digital literacy are essential in shaping the future of education and technology. He added that the study focuses on understanding how users interact with modern technologies and how to develop their skills in fields such as programming and the use of AI tools.
Moreover, Prof. Selim affirmed that the community service sector at the university seeks, through such programs, to achieve the objectives of national development strategies and digital transformation mechanisms, while enhancing the effectiveness of e-government tools by developing human capacity. This, he noted, strengthens the university’s contribution to community service and development. He further pointed out that this initiative highlights Tanta University’s pioneering role in supporting digital transformation and sustainable development, by offering innovative educational and training programs that meet the needs of both the labor market and society.
