In the Context of the President’s Initiative “A New Beginning for Human Development”, a Cohort is Graduated from the English Language Course as Part of the 1st Cohort of Digital Literacy Program

Within the framework of the President’s " A New Beginning for Human Development”, Tanta University has continued its ongoing efforts to empower community members and achieve the goals of Egypt’s Vision 2030. The Community Service and Environmental Development Sector at Tanta University, under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Hussein, University President, announced the graduation of a cohort from the English language course. This course was held for graduates of the first cohort of the digital literacy program, in cooperation with the Nour Misr Charity and the General Authority for Literacy and Adult Education. The course aimed at enhancing the skills of the digital literacy graduates and providing greater opportunities for professional development.

This initiative was launched according to the directives of Prof. Mahmoud Selim, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development, who affirmed the significance of developing a knowledge-based society capable of keeping pace with rapid developments in professional fields, especially those related to employees in governmental sectors.

Prof. Selim declared that organizing the English course is complementary to the digital literacy program, designed to help the participants acquire additional essential skills needed in today’s labor market. He indicated that the collaboration with university partners, such as the Nour Misr Charity and the General Authority for Adult Education, extends beyond knowledge empowerment to include economic empowerment as well.

Economic Empowerment Methods for Trainees

Prof. Selim added that the university seeks to achieve economic empowerment for graduates through two main pivots:

• Creating integrated business models for the small projects they propose.

• Providing employment opportunities to ensure the optimal utilization of skills acquired in the digital literacy and English language courses.

He concluded by affirming that Tanta University looks forward to more effective partnerships with various governmental institutions and NGOs to achieve common development goals. He expressed his gratitude and appreciation to Nour Misr Charity and the General Authority for Adult Education for their vital role and active contribution to the success of these initiatives.
