Under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Hussein, Tanta University President, and in the presence of Dr. Mahmoud Eissa, Deputy Governor of Gharbia, Tanta University Honors Outstanding Educators and Students in Science and Engineering in Preparation for BASEF 2026

    In the context of its commitment to supporting scientific innovation and linking research to community service, Tanta University celebrated the distinguished educators and winning students of the Local Exhibition Qualifying for the Bibliotheca Alexandrina Science and Engineering Fair (BASEF) 2026.

   The honoring ceremony took place on the sidelines of the regular meeting held by the Council for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, chaired by Prof. Mahmoud Selim, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, with the attendance of Dr. Mahmoud Eissa, Deputy Governor of Gharbia, along with several deans, vice deans, and executive leaders in the governorate.

   The event started with a speech by Prof. Mahmoud Selim, who affirmed that supporting these young talents represents a genuine investment in Egypt’s future. He commended the efforts of the Gharbia Directorate of Education and Technical Education in nurturing a generation of young researchers and innovators. Dr. Mahmoud Eissa, Deputy Governor of Gharbia, also expressed the governorate’s pride in these promising models, affirming the continued support for initiatives that promote creativity and scientific research.

    The celebration began by honoring the educational and administrative leaders who contributed to the success of the exhibition, foremost among them Engr. Nasser Ismail, Undersecretary of the Gharbia Directorate of Education and Technical Education.

The honoring also included Mr. Said Mahmoud El-Meshali, Coordinator and Director of Scientific and International Competitions in Gharbia; Mr. Walid Mohamed Hassanein Tantawy, Director of the Undersecretary’s Office; and Mr. Mohamed Fetouh Hammouda Shabaan, Director of Security at the Directorate of Education, in recognition of their dedicated efforts.

   The ceremony concluded with honoring the students whose three scientific projects won and qualified for the international exhibition. The vice presidents of the university and the Deputy Governor were keen to take commemorative photos with the winners and attendees, extending their best wishes for the students’ success in representing Gharbia Governorate and the Arab Republic of Egypt in BASEF 2026 at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina.
